Josh Peck is no stranger to filling the shoes of iconic actors. He’s already been given the honor of following in Tom Hanks’ footsteps as Scott Turner’s son, Scott Turner Jr., in the Disney+ reboot of Turner & Hooch. Now, a future episode of the reboot will see Peck channel action legend Liam Neeson, as Turner & Hooch will pay homage to 2008’s Taken. Here’s what Peck said about the episode.

‘Turner & Hooch’ reboot stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner Jr.

Turner & Hooch picks up decades after the original 1989 Tom Hanks film. Peck plays Scott Jr., an uptight U.S. Marshall who likes everything neat and organized and keeps a Roomba vacuum as a roommate.

After his father’s death, Scott Jr. reluctantly adopts Scott Sr.’s affectionate but destructive French Mastiff named Hooch. Much to Scott Jr.’s surprise, Hooch helps him solve a crime, so the two team up as a K-9 unit. Turner & Hooch follows the pair’s adventures as Scott Jr. tries to tame Hooch into the perfect crime fighter.

Unfortunately, Hanks likely won’t appear in the series unless it’s during a flashback or as Scott Sr.’s ghost. However, Turner & Hooch does feature Reginald VelJohnson, who played Scott Sr.’s partner David Sutton in the original film. The rest of the stars includes Vanessa Lengies, Becca Tobin, Jeremy Maguire, Lyndsy Fonseca, Carra Patterson, Brandon Jay McLaren, and Anthony Ruivivar.

‘Turner & Hooch’ Episode 10 features ‘Taken’ Easter eggs

During an interview with The Talk, Peck revealed that episode 10 of Turner & Hooch would pay tribute to Taken, including an “awful” impression of Neeson.

“We even do a Taken episode, which requires me to do just a really awful impression of Liam Neeson,” Peck said. “So, Mr. Neeson, I apologize but thank you for being so prolific that we wanted to copy you.”

Unfortunately, Peck did not elaborate on what his impression will include. Action film fans can only hope it will feature Neeson’s iconic Taken monologue:

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don’t have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.

Perhaps one of Scott Jr.’s enemies will kidnap Hooch? For the kidnappers’ sake, we hope not.

The Disney+ series pays tribute to other action films like ‘Die Hard’ and ‘Heat’

Taken isn’t the only action movie to inspire Turner & Hooch. In fact, the Disney+ series pays tribute to a different movie in each episode. Each episode title combines an action film with a dog-related pun. So far, the show has done “Forever and a Dog,” “A Good Day to Dog Hard,” “Diamonds are Furever,” and “In the Line of Fur.”

Die Hard, Heat, and In the Line of Fire are just a few films to receive a nod from Turner & Hooch. “A Good Day to Dog Hard” replicates several Die Hard elements, right down to Peck wearing a white tank top and going by the nickname “Cowboy.”

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Peck revealed that many viewers pointed out obvious parallels between Die Hard and Turner & Hooch.

“I read one tweet where they were like, ‘Are these people unaware they’re ripping off Die Hard?‘ I was like, ‘No, bro. That was the point,'” he said. “We love it so much. We’re in a fun way copying it.”

New episodes of Turner & Hooch are available every Wednesday on Disney+.
