‘90 Day Fiancé’: How Jihoon Lee Really Feels About His Split From Deavan Clegg
Sadly, it’s over between Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee. The 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple had been struggling to make things work throughout season 2. While it is unclear when exactly the split happened, Lee has confirmed that he and Clegg are no longer together. But the Korean reality star seems to have a positive outlook on the breakup.
What happened between Deavan and Jihoon?
Lee and Clegg’s relationship was drastically sped up after Clegg got pregnant with Lee’s child. The two got married before they really knew one another. When Clegg moved to Korea in season 2, Lee told her that things would be different and that he would step up and support their family financially. But, he didn’t actually have a way to do that.
“I don’t really have a job,” Lee revealed to the cameras. “I have a side job doing deliveries. It goes by the hour and it’s a part-time job. I lied to Deavan because if I have no money, Deavan’s not [coming] to Korea.”
When Clegg found out, she felt betrayed and didn’t know if she could continue her relationship with Lee.
“It feels absolutely like s*it that he tricked me,” she told the cameras. “I don’t know what I’m going to do right now. And I just really need some time away from Jihoon to figure out whether I’m going to stay with him or if I’m going to go back to America and leave him.”
Later, Lee revealed that he had spent most of the money that he earned on himself because he didn’t take his relationship with Clegg seriously.
How does Jihoon feel about the breakup?
After taking a break from Instagram, Lee came back and revealed that he and Clegg were no longer together.
“So I can’t tell everything because the show [is] not finished,” he said in an Instagram Live.
But despite the breakup, Lee has maintained a pretty positive outlook on things.
“They will be happy and I need to be happy,” he said of Clegg and her children. “Just, I will live my own life. If you lost [a] lover, boy [or] girl. So sad, but you can start again.”
The two are now living separately. Clegg is back in America and Lee is still in Korea.
“We are living our own life, that’s our future,” Lee continued. “So just keep watching. Just keep [supporting] [me] getting [a] better life and please pray for Deavan and Taeyang, [for] their family life.”
As far as what Lee and Clegg will do about custody of their son Taeyang, they have an amicable plan.
“[Deavan] said every summertime, she [will] go back to Korea with Taeyang,” Lee revealed. “She promised, so we can see Taeyang.”
Jihoon’s feelings toward Deavan’s family
Lee often butted heads with Clegg’s mom Elicia. But he recently took to Instagram to stand up for her even though he’s not with her daughter anymore.
“No one is perfect,” he wrote. “Me and Deavan, even Elicia. I am so sorry. But please stop all criticism, especially Elicia. They are probably having a harder time than I am. I heard that Elicia and Drascilla’s under threat of murder. It is 100% wrong. I am begging you guys, I just want peace… I apologize to you guys but thank you so much.”
