Colin Macy-O’Toole From ‘Below Deck Med’ Breaks Big Dating News
Hearts were broken across the country when Colin Macy-O’Toole from Below Deck Mediterranean announced he was seeing someone when he appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
One of Below Deck Med‘s most eligible bachelors seemed to be off the market, which left a number of hopeful ladies a little sad. While fans have collectively cheered for the deckhand to find love, many wished he would have found love with one of them.
But when a fan asked Macy-O’Toole how the relationship was going, he sparked some hope again in fans. So what did he reveal? And what did one of his former cast members have to say about what happened?
Back on the market
After Macy-O’Toole posted his weekly recap rap a fan asked how his relationship was going. “How is your relationship progressing? You mentioned you were seeing someone on WWHL. I can understand your want for privacy,” the fan tweeted.
Macy-O’Toole responded, “Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. Back on the market… @BravoTV @BravoWWHL.” After he made the remark a number of fans commented about how every mom in American now has hope. “Moms are rejoicing everywhere,” one person wrote. “We want to set you up with our daughters!!!”
Twitter isn’t exactly wrong. Macy-O’Toole told Showbiz Cheat Sheet he gets a lot of direct messages from mothers. “I get a lot of moms who direct message me on social media,” he said. “I get a lot of moms. They always say, ‘I never do this, don’t tell my daughter.’”
What does he look for in a possible ‘first mate?’
Macy-O’Toole also says he gets a lot of personal messages from people who live far from his home base of Long Island too. “With Brooke last season on the show, telling her I liked her, but in the back of my head, I thought, she lives in England,” he said. “I live on Long Island, would we even make this work? I’m so close to my friends and family. You would absolutely have to be ‘the one’ for me to do that [move away].”
He also said he prefers someone who embraces fun and likes adventure. “I want someone outgoing and funny,” he said. “Someone who likes to go out, but also stays in once in a while.”
While he wouldn’t reveal what he is into physically, he did share who is his celebrity crush. “Mine would be Margot Robbie. I think she’s beautiful, she’s well-spoken. She’d be fun to go out with too.” Sounds like former third stew June Foster would have been a good match for him.
Which former crew member always has his back?
When Below Deck Med alum, Jamie Jason heard the news, she wasn’t happy. “Who broke your heart? What woman on this planet would dare not gush over @ColinMacyOToole … so can I have two Below deck men then? @ColinMacyOToole sorry it didn’t work out you sweet pea! She’s out there for ya, patience,” she tweeted. Macy-O’Toole responded, “Aw thanks boo!”
Jason and Macy-O’Toole seemed to have a strong friendship when they were on the show together. They both trended toward having more fun and less drama and typically brought the laughs to the show.
When Below Deck Med returned this season, Jason tweeted that she only watches the show for Macy-O’Toole. “The only reason I’d actually really watch #BelowDeckMed ever again is because of @ColinMacyOToole . Pretty sure it’s his show now and I’m not complaining.” Sounds like this is one friend who really has his back.
