Amid plummeting ratings and a nasty rift among the cast, rumors are starting to swirl that a major shake-up is coming. However, Lady Morgan’s name hasn’t been mentioned in the chatter. Is it possible Sonja will be out of RHONY next season?

Will Sonja Morgan and her ‘Real Housewives of New York’ co-stars skip the season 13 reunion?

In July, it was revealed that the season 13 RHONY reunion taping scheduled for August 5 had been delayed until September. Now, it’s been put off “indefinitely.” According to The Daily Mail, the rift between newbie Eboni K. Williams and her co-stars has grown so toxic, the season 13 reunion might not happen at all. One insider says that the fear is there’s “no going forward and no coming back.”

“At this point, they could just shut it down. Eboni’s saying she’s traumatized; the rest of the ladies are just shocked,” the source shared. “I don’t know how they sit down together and figure this out. I don’t know if it’s even possible.”

The ‘RHONY’ ratings have hit an all-time low

Filmed amid the pandemic, the season 13 cast of Sonja, Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Leah McSweeney, and Eboni has failed to deliver strong ratings for Bravo. According to The New York Post, they’ve hit an all-time low.

Many fans have shared their disappointment with the current cast, which is missing fan-favorite Dorinda Medley. The constant talk of race and politics has also caused fans to turn the channel.

It’s clear that Bravo needs to make some changes, and a source recently dished to celebrity gossip page DeuxMoi that the network execs are trying to figure out their next move.

Sonja Morgan’s name is left out of the negotiation rumors

According to the insider, a “serious conversation” is taking place between Bravo and parent company NBCUniversal about what to do with the “legendary New York Housewives franchise.” But fans were left outraged when the source brought up everyone’s name except for Ramona.

“There was a lot of anger a few weeks back when a certain someone falsely leaked that Ramona Singer was being fired from the show she helped build,” the insider dished. “The network knows who it was, and this hasn’t helped the troublemaker’s case.”

The source also noted that Ramona has the highest “Q score” from the RHONY audience. Which means she is performing the best in all of the key demographics. The insider also dished that the plan is to fire Leah, but “the Bravo gods” want to keep Eboni because she’s “commercially helped the show.”

Is Bethenny Frankel coming back to ‘Real Housewives of New York’?

The source explained that Bravo is working on Ramona and Eboni being the only “returning apple holders” in season 14. Luann will reportedly appear as a “friend” next season instead of a full-time cast member, so she can have more time to focus on her cabaret show. Which the source says NBC has a financial stake in.

But the “biggest rumbling of all,” according to the insider, was that Bravo was working overtime to secure Bethenny Frankel and Tinsley Mortimer’s return.

“Mortimer is closest to signing, but as much as she’ll play coy, Frankel isn’t far behind. A Mortimer return rules out Dorinda Medley, who may need to wait another year or so to return. Frankel, Singer, Mortimer, and Williams are the network’s idea to move forward, with three new housewives coming to play,” the source explained.

Sonja Morgan could be out next season

Among all of this talk about a cast shake-up, Sonja has been left out completely. If the insider’s info is correct, it appears that Sonja could be gone next season. The names brought up for possible newbies in RHONY season 14 included Ramona’s friend, composer Lucia Hwong Gordon and former co-host of The View, actress Sherri Shepherd.

The insider also noted that Bethenny’s return isn’t a sure thing. She is demanding an executive producer credit, is willing to film just three times a week, and she wants a say in who stays and who goes. It’s not clear just yet if Bravo is willing to meet her demands and give her that much power.
