It’s the question on everyone’s minds. Does this season of The Bachelor end in a proposal? For years, The Bachelor has been the ultimate dating show because it is typically more serious than the others. People don’t just go on Bachelor shows to find love, they go on them to find a spouse. But in recent years, more Bachelors have been opting to end their seasons without an engagement, which is still pretty frowned upon in the franchise. So, does  Matt James end his season down on one knee?

Who does Matt James pick?

*Potential spoilers ahead*

Though we are only halfway through Matt’s season of The Bachelor, Reality Steve and other sources have already revealed that Matt ends up with Rachael Kirkconnell at the end of the season. Last week on their one-on-one date, Matt told Rachael that he was falling in love with her, which means that Steve could have been right in his prediction.

Matt has also been making charcuterie boards ahead of episodes on Monday nights and sharing them on Instagram. Some fans have believed this is a hint that he chose Rachael as her Bachelor bio specifically talks about cheese boards.

In addition to those clues, Matt stood up for Rachel after she was accused of liking racist pictures.

“I have not spoken to anybody since the show ended, but I would say that you have to be really careful about what you are doing on social media,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Rumors are dark and nasty and can ruin people’s lives. So I would give people the benefit of the doubt, and hopefully she will have her time to speak on that.

“There’s a lot of stuff going around about the women that were involved in the show,” he continued. “I would just give them a chance to kind of have their piece, whether that is someone who was gone night one or someone who went home last night. Everyone has a story, and I would just be receptive to that.”

Does Matt end his season engaged?

An engagement is the ultimate goal at the end of The Bachelor, however, over the years, some fans have begun to feel that the relationships on the show are too rushed, which may be why more couples are opting to forgo engagement.

“People always think (including myself) that an engagement at the end of this show is pretty ridiculous since these people barely know each other,” Reality Steve wrote on his blog. “However, now knowing that Matt doesn’t propose to Rachael this season, do you think most people will think, ‘Oh great. That means that can really take their time to get to know each other and hopefully have a long, prosperous relationship?’ H*ll no. Everyone will basically say this relationship has zero chance because it doesn’t have that ‘label’ of engagement, even though that’s never mattered in the past since so many don’t make it anyway.”

He continued, defending Matt’s decision not to get engaged.

“But I can already tell you him not proposing will immediately have people giving the hot take that these two won’t make it,” he wrote. “I mean, I don’t think they will either, but not because he didn’t propose. I don’t think they’ll make it because I don’t think for a second Matt is ready for a serious relationship, and never was.”
