Clare Crawley is reportedly shaking things up in Bachelor nation. After just a few weeks of filming for The Bachelorette, it has been reported that Crawley no longer wants to be the lead on the show. While some people have been doubtful that this news is more than just a rumor, Crawley may have confirmed it herself.

Clare wants out

Crawley’s season was already postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. But after just two weeks of filming, the show might have to come to a halt again.

“She told producers she no longer wanted to participate in the show” because she had “already fallen in love,” a source told Life & Style.

After meeting contestant Dale Moss, Crawley is reportedly ready to leave The Bachelorette behind.

“Producers are scrambling to figure out what to do,” the source said. “They are frantic trying to pick up the pieces without having to start over completely.”

Clare may have confirmed her exit

Many people were skeptical about how reliable this source could be. Bachelor expert Reality Steve also had his doubts.

“She signed a contract for the show,” he tweeted. “You can’t just quit in the middle of it. If that were the case, PLENTY of other former leads would’ve done that once they knew who they wanted early on. So dumb.”

But Crawley recently liked a tweet suggesting that Tayshia Adams might be replacing her as Bachelorette. Crawley has since unliked the tweet but this is a big deal, not only because of the content of the message but because Bachelorettes aren’t allowed to have their phones during filming. So, the fact that Crawley was able to get on Twitter is definitely suspicious.

Is Tayshia Adams going to be the Bachelorette?

Adams became a fan favorite on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. After getting dumped prematurely when Underwood decided to stick with Cassie Randolph before the finale rose ceremony, Adams headed off to Bachelor in Paradise to find love. There, she hit it off with both John Paul Jones and Derek Peth. Ultimately, she dumped Peth and got back together with Jones. They ended the season together but eventually called it quits.

Switching out Bachelorettes mid-season is not the most natural thing to do, but a lot of the men of Crawley’s season could potentially be interested in Adams too. Both women are on the mature end of the Bachelor women spectrum and have the same no-nonsense attitude when it comes to picking potential partners.

The Bachelor production also reportedly called back in some of the men who were cut from Crawley’s season to return.

“Last weekend, producers reached out to backup ‘Bachelorette’ contestants who had been vetted for Clare’s season but were ultimately not cast to film at La Quinta,” a source told Us Weekly.

“When producers reached back out, out of the blue, it was very apparent that something had happened with production,” the source continued.

The men were only given 24 hours to return.

There has been no official word as to whether there is going to be a lead change, but Crawley’s activity on Twitter is certainly a tell-tale sign.
