Big Poppa just wants to hang with the neighborhood kids

A concerned pet parent who goes by the name Rae Elle, posted a photo of her dog, Big Poppa. She said her dog looked unbelievably sad because he couldn’t play with the neighborhood kids. Now that we’re all socially distancing, it’s not possible for Pops to get in some playtime with the kiddos.

“Big Poppa has been so sad today,” Rae Elle wrote on Twitter. “I think he misses playing with the kids in the building. He just watches them from the patio.” Rae Elle explained to a person on Twitter that the pandemic has taken a toll on her fur baby. “I’ve been trying, but he loves children more than anything,” she wrote.” And not being able to play with them daily, but he can see them, I think it’s taking a toll on him.”

Twitter reacts to Big Poppa

The people of Twitter just couldn’t deal with the look of utter hopelessness on Big Poppa’s face. His head is down, and it seems as if he can’t bear to behold the sight of the neighborhood kids enjoying life without him. We’re sure he’s imagining how it would feel to enjoy the cool breeze on his fur while he basks in the company of his friends. We bet he would give up a thousand dog treats just to interact with them one more time.

Some people on Twitter felt moved to comment on Big Poppa’s distress. One Twitter user said his priorities are now changed in light of Big Poppa’s plight. “My COVID-19 priorities have now shifted to whatever is best for Big Poppa,” he wrote. Another person said someone should show Big Poppa’s picture to the coronavirus. “Somebody show this picture to the virus,” wrote the Twitter user. “It’ll leave on its own to make Big Poppa happy again.”

Big Poppa’s distress even prompted one Twitter user to create an art piece based on him. “I have barely drawn in the past few weeks. But Big Poppa inspired me,” she wrote.

Hopefully Big Poppa’s new bed will make him happy

We can only hope that some little treat will bring a smile to Big Poppa’s face and warm his heart for a few precious moments. In another post, Rae Elle shared a picture of Big Poppa’s new dog bed. The bed is quite small, but it seems to offer a sliver of joy to this downtrodden pup. There’s a hint of satisfaction on his face as he settles into his new happy place. Perhaps the soft comfort of the bed will make him forget his troubles, even if it’s just for a short time.

Can’t get enough of this sweet bulldog? Rae Elle announced Big Poppa has his own Instagram account. If you want to check in on Poppa, he’s just a mouse click away. His Instagram is PoptheBulldog.

Here’s to Big Poppa. We hope you’ll be reunited with your neighborhood friends soon.
