It’s no surprise when Bachelor Nation alums end up on Dancing with the Stars. The Bachelorette’s Hannah Brown won the Mirrorball Trophy last season. Now Kaitlyn Bristowe is stunning audiences with her moves on DWTS Season 29. Then recently, Tyler Cameron hinted he’d rather be on Dancing with the Stars than return to The Bachelor franchise.

Tyler Cameron was the runner-up on Hannah Brown’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’

For anyone who needs a refresher, Cameron became a fan-favorite on Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. The former contractor made it to the final two. But Brown picked Jed Wyatt in the final rose ceremony.

Nevertheless, Brown dumped Wyatt before the grand finale. She also asked Cameron out on a date during the “After the Final Rose” reunion special. But the couple didn’t end up together after the show. Now, it seems Cameron and Brown are friends.

“We’ve had ups and downs. Right now, we’re in a great spot. We’re friends and we’re able to kind of come back,” Cameron told Cosmopolitan in October 2020. “It was really great to see her and hang out and be ourselves again and be friends.”

Brown won Dancing with the Stars Season 28 alongside her partner, Alan Bersten. But will Bachelor Nation fans see Brown’s ex on the show one day? In an interview with Us Weekly published in August, Cameron revealed he’d be willing to give DWTS a shot.

“I would have a lot of fun doing Dancing with the Stars. I love to dance and I was almost a dance minor in college. Big fan of it,” Cameron said. “So that would be something I’d be so into and love to do. Who knows if that could ever happen?”

Now, this may not come as much of a surprise. During Cameron’s intro video on The Bachelorette, the 27-year-old was presented as the dancing contractor.

“I love to dance. I was two classes away from being a dance minor,” Cameron said at the time. “It just puts you out there and you’re vulnerable. It’s just what I love to do.”

While Cameron expressed interest in Dancing with the Stars, it seems he may not be as keen to return to The Bachelor franchise. In the above interview with Us Weekly, Cameron revealed he would “never say never” to the leading role. But for now, he has other projects he wants to accomplish.

“Would I do The Bachelor? I never say never,” he said. “You know, I think it’s a fantastic opportunity and a great way to experience so many things and meet people. But there’s so many things I want to do and need to do for myself before I ever really put myself into that kind of commitment again.”

He continued, “My whole life has changed ever since that show aired. I have stuff at home I want to take care of, I have businesses I want to start. Once I get those accomplished, maybe I can take a real look at something like that — or even dating seriously. But until I get to that point, I’m kinda locked and focused on what I gotta do and get done here.”

Then when speaking with Us Weekly in September, Cameron was asked whether he would come back for Bachelor in Paradise. And although the reality star hinted he’d only return as a bartender alongside Wells Adams, he hinted he was done dating within the franchise.

“I tried it. I’m gonna try something else,” Cameron said.
