Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake uses bartending to take down a bad guy in ‘Uncharted’

The brief clip shows Nathan Drake and his partner, Chloe Frazer (Sophia Taylor Ali), looking for treasure clues inside a nightclub. However, an enemy spots them, so Nathan needs to buy Chloe time to solve a puzzle. He heads behind the bar and defends himself against the mercenary, using bottles and bartending tools to keep his opponent away.

All the while, Nathan shows off his wit by trying to guess the mercenary’s drink of choice. And for an impressive grand finale, he takes a shot of alcohol and uses it to blow fire from a candle before escaping with Chloe.

That scene won’t be the only time in Uncharted where Nathan poses as a bartender. As seen in one of the movie’s trailers, the young treasure hunter goes incognito as a bartender at an upscale party, showing off his cocktail-making skills.

Tom Holland trained as a bartender in London to prepare for the movie

Tom Holland’s bartending moves in Uncharted are 100 percent real, as he trained alongside real bartenders at Chiltern Firehouse, a luxury hotel bar in London. However, the actor told The Hollywood Reporter that he didn’t exactly work on making cocktails.

“I was mainly focused on just learning some really cool flair tricks. I wanted the flair bartenders out there to really understand that I put in the work and learned these cool tricks,” Holland said. “So for me, it was mainly just flipping bottles, catching them, and all that sort of stuff.”
