Lala Kent joined the cast of Vanderpump Rules in 2015 and has since become one of the most popular people on the show. She recently returned to film the ninth season, and Kent shared that she actually became “disappointed” in fellow cast members.

‘Vanderpump Rules’ lost multiple cast members this past year

Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules will look a little different as the show had lost several cast members this past year, including a few who had been around since the very first episode.

In June 2020, Bravo dropped Stassi Shroeder and Kristen Doute. This came after former cast member Faith Stowers accused them of reporting her to the police for a crime committed by another Black woman.

Not long after, the show also let go of Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni when racist tweets they made resurfaced.

In December 2020, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright announced they were leaving the show. However, they did not specify a reason.

Then, in April 2021, Dayna Kathan revealed she also would be leaving.

Lala Kent says she was ‘disappointed’ in people while filming season 9

These changes to the cast have had some people wondering if Vanderpump Rules would still be the same beloved show they know and love. According to Kent, season 9 will still be an enjoyable one, especially for people who tune in to see drama.

“We’re definitely not getting along,” Lala told ET before adding, “If everybody were this big of a hot mess, they would be handing camera crews out to every Tom, Dick and Harry on the street.”

In fact, Kent shared that she was “disappointed” in fellow cast members’ behaviors while filming.

“From a personal, real-life person, obviously I was disappointed [in castmates] in many ways,” she said. “But as someone as a viewer, it was like, ‘Bravo! This is gold.’ I’m turned on by all of it.”

Surprisingly, one person Kent seems to have bonded with is Scheana Shay. Despite the two of them having some issues with each other, they have forged a new friendship thanks to motherhood.

Both Kent and Shay became mothers recently. In March, Kent gave birth to her daughter, Ocean. A month later, Shay welcomed a baby girl named Summer Moon.

“I don’t know how I would have done if I didn’t have Scheana, who was understanding all of those moments of like, ‘We have to go film tonight, but I really just want to be with my kid. I haven’t seen her all day,'” Kent said. “So she understood that and it was nice to have that person to bond with over being a mom, and a new mom at that.”

Their children have hung out together and even got to appear on-camera.

“[Ocean’s] timing is impeccable, I will say,” Kent added. “When we film Vanderpump, they’re only allowed to film for 20 minutes just because of their age, and she could be a terror. The second she knows she’s on camera, she calms herself down and then when she’s wrapped, she’s back to screaming her head off. She’s a professional.”
