‘Vanderpump Rules’: Why Did This Feud With Kristen Doute Feel Different to Stassi Schroeder?
In an upcoming clip, Stassi Schroeder from Vanderpump Rules tells Lisa Vanderpump why this fight with Kristen Doute seems different.
Season 8 debuts on Bravo, January 7 at 9/8 central and stories of the rumored fights and fallouts will finally be revealed to viewers. A major rumor circulating since season 7 wrapped was that Doute was not only feuding with Schroeder but other cast members too. Schroder shared she was merely taking a break from Doute in her podcast, Straight Up with Stassi.
However, a preview clip shows the feud was far deeper and serious. In October, Doute expressed confusion about the fallout to Page Six. “I don’t totally understand it and hopefully I will find a way to understand it and also find peace with it,” she said. “Because it is really hard, especially going through my breakup with Carter that I am sure lasted far too long for so many people, but I’m sorry it was my f—king relationship.”
Schroeder confides in Vanderpump
The preview clip shows Schroeder having a heart to heart with Vanderpump about Doute. “I’ve been really frustrated because the way she speaks it’s like … ‘Katie and Stassi are horrible friends. They don’t support me in my relationship. Or they haven’t checked in on me.’ And I feel like she’s been telling everyone that’s she’s broken up with her boyfriend. She in the same breath says, ‘But we still live together, have sex with each other and hang out every day.'”
Schroeder adds that she feels duped. “Kristen and I have had our fair share of ups and downs,” she says in a confessional. “But this feels different.” Cameras flash back to the reunion where Doute breaks down about feeling lonely in her breakup from boyfriend Brian Carter.
‘I don’t know that the person I’m hopefully growing into, can be friends with the person who’s not growing at all,” Schroeder adds.
Vanderpump shares that she can’t deal with a liar
Vanderpump understands where Schroeder is coming from. “Lying is my Achilles heel,” she shares with Schroeder. “If somebody lies to me, that’s it. We’re f**ing done.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans likely recall the fallout between Vanderpump and the rest of the cast over who leaked a story to Radar Online about a botched dog adoption.
Schroeder says, “I’m like triggered with lies. And it makes me pull away. I’m not going to dance this dance. I’m not going to play this game.” Since filming wrapped, Doute reconnected with Schroeder and Katie Maloney-Schwartz at BravoCon. But the friends didn’t seem to find their way back to their old friendship.”We exchanged pleasantries,” Doute told Hollywood Life. “We were all there for the same reason and we all have a job to do, and we were all on the same team when it comes to the show, but that was it.”
But Doute wants to find her way back to her former best friends. “I love them both. My personal POV is I love them both,” she added. “They’re still my sisters to me. I still have a lot of love. They asked for space, so I’m giving them space.”
