Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge were axed from The Real Housewives of Orange County ahead of season 15. However, viewers that tuned in for the second episode of the season would not realize that they are not on the show anymore. Both former stars were heavily mentioned throughout the episode and were driving forces in a couple of the storylines. This prompted Gunvalson to react on Twitter and call Bravo out.

Why was Vicki Gunvalson upset?

On the RHOC episode that aired October 21, it was mentioned that Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s mother contacted Judge to reveal that she was an alcoholic. Judge then told her former co-stars this information which forced Windham-Burke to come out clean with her family and the cast. Gunvalson was also mentioned throughout the episode in conversations that were creating conflict amongst the women.

Fans of the show noticed that the housewives that were cut from the reality series were still driving storylines in the season. A couple of fans wondered if Gunvalson and Judge were getting paid to be name-dropped on the show.

“If we aren’t good enough to be on, then why use our names at all?” Gunvalson replied to a fan suggesting Bravo pay them for bringing the drama.

Another fan also questioned if Judge and Gunvalson were receiving a residual check because “they surely are mentioned a lot.”

“Nope,” Gunvalson replied. “No residual check coming for either one of us. Not cool.”

Braunwyn Windham-Burke says ‘RHOC’ is ‘good’ without Vicki Gunvalson

Windham-Burke was no fan of Gunvalson when she joined the show in season 14. Right from the get-go, Windham-Burke made Gunvalson her target in calling her out. It is worth noting the Windham-Burke was “hooked” on RHOC before she ever joined the show and watched it from season 1 as a “guilty pleasure.”

“Jeana Keough, in the original cast, was a really good friend of my grandparents,” she told the OC Register back in 2019. “So when I initially tuned in it was to watch her and her family, because I’d kind of grown up around them. And then I kind of got hooked.”

Gunvalson and Windham-Burke clashed throughout the season and since the OG of the OC was fired, the latter feels it’s “good” not having the former.

“I think it’s good not having Vicki there because a lot of what she did last year was manufactured, fake drama and lies against [co-star Kelly Dodd],” Windham-Burke told Digital Spy. “I’m not into that kind of thing, I don’t really like that when women do that do each other.”

Emily Simpson also likes ‘RHOC’ without the veterans

Another housewife that is happy that Gunvalson and Judge are gone is Emily Simpson. The latter is on her third season as a housewife and felt that the series needed to evolve.

“For me, I think it’s better,” Simpson told E! News about Gunvalson and Judge not being in the series. “And I don’t mean that as disrespect towards them. I think that they were on the show for a long period of time and I just think the show has to evolve.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
