Ever since the end of You Season 2, fans have been clamoring for more. The series had a major twist in the finale episode, leaving people eager to see what happens next. Though there’s not a lot of information out about the next season of You, actor Victoria Pedretti has let a couple of details slip.

Victoria Pedretti on ‘You’ Season 3

The third season of You has taken longer to air than it normally would because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As show creator Sera Gamble previously explained on Twitter, production initially started in February 2020, but it was shut down soon after. Filming was finally able to resume in November 2020, lasting through the end of April.

In an Extra interview published in May, Pedretti spoke on her work on the series. She noted she was fresh off of shooting the show at the time. “I just finished shooting ‘You,'” she said. “So there’s another season of you that’ll be coming out eventually.”

“We just put in some good hard work under very different conditions than the previous season,” Pedretti continued, seemingly referring to filming protocols that were put in place during the pandemic, “but I’m really excited about it. I think the fans will enjoy it.”

‘You’ left off with a cliffhanger

The last season of You followed Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) as he stalked Pedretti’s Love Quinn, only to learn she was harboring a deep secret of her own. Love, like Joe, also has a dark side and has no problem killing in the name of love. At the end of the season, the two decided to be a family after discovering Love’s pregnancy. They move into a quaint suburban community, where Joe noticed and became infatuated with a neighbor.

“This is just the beginning,” he said in a voiceover as he observed the woman through an opening in his fence. “Because this is where I had to be exactly where I had to be to meet You.”

It was previously believed the woman was Joe’s mom, but Gamble ruled out that theory, only telling TVGuide that “there’s a lot to come with that neighbor.” Variety later reported it’s a woman named Natalie, played by Michaela McManus.

“Married to a powerful man, Natalie is a professional and social success,” reads her character description. “But she sees through the shallow, Stepford-esque vibe that surrounds her, and beneath her wry exterior, she leads a secret life. One that Joe is willing to work hard to learn more about.”

That probably won’t be good for his relationship with Love, who we know has an obsessive streak. Pedretti hasn’t gotten too into detail about You Season 3, but she told Collider she’s looking forward to more clashes between her character and Joe.

When does ‘You’ Season 3 come out?

The release date for You Season 3 has not yet been announced, but Variety reports the show is expected to return in 2021. We’ll keep you posted with any additional information.
