The votes are still coming in to see who will be the king of Norway, and Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) is doing what he can to suck up and get the votes he needs. He already has two of the four votes, putting him ahead as a possible winner.

King Olaf (Steven Berkoff) even votes for Bjorn, which could mean a number of things. Somehow, Bjorn survived this far, which seems unbelievable. Harald Finehair (Peter Franzen), who is doing his own scheming, chooses to vote for Bjorn as well, shocking fans at home. It seems Olaf and Harald could both have ulterior motives at work against Bjorn.

Gunnhild learns about the death of Hali

Gunnhild (Ragga Ragnars), Bjorn’s wife, finally reaches Lagertha’s (Katheryn Winnick) village and she learns the truth about Hali’s (Ryan Henson) death at the hands of the bandit leader. Lagertha prepares the people for another attack, and this time they’ll be ready. Things seem a little too quiet in the village and there’s sure to be action in the next episode.

Ivar the Boneless gets a surprise visit

This week’s episode held a major surprise for Ivar the Boneless. He’s still scheming and it appears he has Prince Igor (Oran Glynn O’Donovan) on his side for now. Ivar also somehow manages to get Prince Dir (Lenn Kudrjawizki) out of his monstrous cage and to safety finally. Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky), who is a lot smarter than he lets on, kills the guards for allowing it to happen under their noses.

Oleg then decides to announce that he’s marrying Princess Katya (Alicia Agneson). The trouble is, Katya is a doppelganger for Freydis. Fans will remember that Freydis was Ivar’s wife who told him that he was a god. He kills her in the end for betraying him, so seeing her again shakes Ivar to his core. Ivar believes Katya is Freydis herself, and this will definitely mean trouble in the future for Ivar and Oleg.

Fans react to season 6, episode 5

Fans can’t stop talking about the latest episode. Many fans think Harald has other motives at play. “Harald is 100% going to end up betraying them somehow, he would never ever vote for Bjorn,” a Reddit user wrote. “Although it seems odd he would do it in such an underhanded way.”

Other viewers clearly agree that Harald has another trick up his sleeve before it’s all really over. “Harald is clearly up to something and, per usual, Bjorn seems utterly clueless,” another user explained.

Numerous fans can’t stop discussing the dark-haired Freydis. Could the doppelganger be more than that somehow? “Yeah..He should to not fall in love again with the doppelganger of Freydis ..This Katya will try to destroy him too,” a Reddit user wrote.

Some viewers think Katya knows more than she is saying. “The way that Katya looked at Ivar in the dinner scene is just intriguing…I think she is Freydis reincarnated and remembers what Ivar did to her,” another user chimed in.

Hopefully fans will get some much-needed answers in episode 6 of Vikings.
