‘Vikings’ Season 6B: What’s Going to Happen With Prince Oleg’s Brother? — Fans Have a Number of Theories
Season 6 of Vikings left fans with a lot of questions about what’s to come. With season 6B on all of our minds, some fans have been speculating as to what will happen with Prince Oleg’s (Danila Kozlovsky) brother, Prince Dir (Lenn Kudrjawizki). A fan questions what will happen with Prince Oleg’s brother
Fans will recall that Prince Dir is Oleg’s brother. Oleg is ruling in place of Prince Igor (Oran Glynn O’Donovan) until he comes of age, or at least that’s the front. He’s clearly power-hungry and eager for more. He has his sights set on invading Scandinavia and Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) is caught in the middle.
When Ivar helps Dir escape from Oleg’s clutches, Dir promises to help him overthrow Oleg. This has yet to play out and Oleg and Ivar have already left and started their invasion of Scandinavia.
A fan recently asked on Reddit what will happen with the plot involving Dir and overthrowing Oleg now. “What do you guys think that the showrunners are going to do with all the Oleg’s brother supporting Ivar plot?” a user asked on Reddit. “I mean, if it was so important, how are they going to develop it if there are only 10 episodes left and in the promo they show other storylines?”
Fans weigh in with their own theories
Fans have a number of theories about how things could go with this storyline. Some viewers are concerned it will be forgotten about because the promo for season 6B included so many other story threads. It would be impossible to wrap all of these plots up in just a few episodes.
One fan thinks Dir is actually dead already at the hands of Oleg. “I imagine he’s probably dead and everyone else has been planted by Oleg to make Ivar think he has an ally,” a Reddit user explained.
Another user thought the same thing at first. “It’s the first thing that I thought. However we actually saw him leave still alive, and since we have already seen that Ivar is a great schemer I don’t think Oleg is at his level,” a Reddit user said. “My thought is that Oleg is desperately trying to show Ivar that he is smarter, so Ivar should be careful. Ivar anyway is showing Oleg that he is still one step ahead of him.”
Prince Dir could still be alive
A fan of the series doesn’t think Dir is dead just yet. Katya (Alicia Agneson) revealed to Ivar that she learned of Dir’s fate from her mother’s friend.
“Why I don’t think he’s dead is because Katya told Ivar in 6×10 that her mother’s friend told her that Prince Dir was alive and well and that Ivar helped him escape,” A Reddit user wrote.
“The first five episodes of 6B will be focused mainly on Ivar vs. Oleg, that’s what I’m expecting,” a Reddit user theorized about the situation. If this is the case, then we might still see more of Prince Dir in the future.
Another fan doesn’t think anything else will happen with this particular storyline. “Not a single thing. It’ll be all swept under the rug and forgotten. As it should be,” a fan of the series commented.
Fans are all over the place when it comes to what will happen with Prince Oleg’s brother, Prince Dir. Hopefully we’ll get some answers when season 6B of Vikings returns.
