Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga are sisters-in-law who star on the Bravo show The Real Housewives of New Jersey. The two have had their ups and downs through the years, and things have one again been all over the place this season. But while Giudice has been in the spotlight for legal drama, Gorga has a clean record. Both live in mansions, but who actually has the higher net worth?
Both women live in mansions in Montville, New Jersey
Gorga is married to Giudice’s brother, Joe Gorga. Giudice and her brother have had some bad blood through the years, and a lot of it stemmed from his wife. Giudice hated Melissa Gorga when she and her husband began dating, and it proved to put a major rift in the siblings’ relationship. However, the two still chose to raise their children in the same town of Montville Township, New Jersey. Both Gorga and Giudice built custom homes in the town, but one is far wealthier than the other.
Giudice has had plenty of economic woes
Giudice’s finances have been through the ringer over the past few years. Just after building her massive Montville mansion, she and her husband, Joe Giudice, filed for bankruptcy. It was then discovered that the Giudice’s had committed tax evasion, bankruptcy fraud, and had lied on loans. Both of them were sentenced to prison time and were forced to pay $414,000 in restitution.
But Giudice also has had more monetary success than Gorga
Although it sounds as though Giudice has no money to her name, that actually isn’t the case. While she and her husband had plenty of economic trouble back in the early 2000s, once Giudice began starring on RHONJ, her net worth skyrocketed. She wrote several books, including cookbooks and a book about everything that happened to her family through the years. She also is arguably the most well-known housewife on the show, which means she makes more money for appearances and likely gets paid more per episode than the rest of the cast, including Gorga.
Gorga is worth an estimated $1.5 million
Although Gorga lives a very posh life, she reportedly only has a net worth of around $1.5 million. However, Gorga may have undisclosed assets that weren’t factored in to her calculated net worth, such as the value of her Montville home. She may actually be worth more than $1.5 million, but either way, she likely isn’t worth as much as Giudice.
Giudice is worth an estimated $11 million
Despite going through economic hardships, Giudice has bounced back and has a net worth estimated at $11 million. Her personal success, apart from her husband’s business, has made her most of this money. However, Giudice still does have debt to pay off, since the couple way overspent on their home. But she has done a solid job of stepping up to make the money while her husband is in jail. Although Giudice is not out of the woods financially, she definitely has the larger net worth between her and her sister in law.
