In WeCrashed Season 1 Episode 5: “Hustle Harder,” which began streaming on April 1, 2022, according to Apple TV+, Adam continues expanding WeWork’s reach. He uses some of the money he secured in the March 25 episode to open new locations.

However, not everyone is impressed. Some investors think Adam’s scaling the business too quickly. In particular, Masayoshi “Masa” Son (Kim Eui-sung), doesn’t praise Adam when he shares WeWork’s latest growth stats. The Japanese billionaire and SoftBank founder/CEO doesn’t cheer along with everyone else when Adam announces 13 new locations spanning six countries.

At one point, Masa gives Adam and his WeWork co-founder, Miguel McKelvey (Kyle Marvin), some advice. He asks them one question: who wins in a fight, the smart guy or the crazy guy? The answer? The crazy guy. “You’re not crazy enough,” Masa tells Adam. “Do you understand?”

Adam follows his advice, setting his sights on taking over the rest of the co-working market. He tells his competition — while on his new private jet — he’s going to crush them. And he does. One by one he starts to take out his competitors. And when Miguel’s not on board with his ideas, Adam reminds him they have to follow Masa’s advice.

After not getting her time to shine on the red carpet with Adam at the Time 100 gala Rebekah heads to WeWork headquarters. But there’s a problem. People are using her office as a meeting space.

Rebekah doesn’t like it. So she immediately heads to the Human Resources department. She informs them the employee leading the meeting is to be fired for having “bad energy.”

This continues whenever she sees something she doesn’t like. Eventually, Elishia Kennedy (America Ferrera) notices and invites Rebekah out for drinks.

However, the dynamic is off between them. So much so Elishia asks Rebekah if she’s mad at her. Rebekah says no before asking Elishia if she only got close to her because WeWork had been recruiting her? “I’m not that person,” Elishia said. “I came to WeWork because of you, not the other way around.”

Rebekah proceeds to open up about feeling “invisible, inconsequential, and small.” Later, Rebekah meets with a branding consultant recommended to her by Elishia. During their meeting, she discovers she’s a muse. But, as the consultant tells her, muses don’t end up in Vanity Fair. So Rebekah changes her answer because her goal is to be in the publication.

Meanwhile, Rebekah tells Adam she wants to take WeWork vegan. As revealed in the March 18 episode, “Summer Camp,” she hasn’t eaten meat since childhood.

Following Elishia’s comments about changing the company’s mission statement, which Rebekah helped create, she learns she is no longer the chief brand officer at WeWork. As she’s in hair and make-up preparing for a Vanity Fair photoshoot, Elishia finds outs Rebekah is replacing her.

“It’s not Adam that’s making you feel small,” Elishia tells Rebekah. “You’re worried he outshines you because he does. You have no light of your own.” With that, Elishia leaves while Rebekah joins Adam for the photoshoot.

A new episode of WeCrashed begins streaming every Friday on Apple TV+.
