Megan Thee Stallion attends Texas Southern University

Megan Thee Stallion’s college career started in the early 2010s when she enrolled at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. While attending the school, she began uploading videos of herself rapping to social media, which later went viral.

After taking time off from Prairie View A&M University to further her music career, the “Savage Remix” rapper transferred to Texas Southern University, where she is currently pursuing a degree in health administration.

In 2020, Megan Thee Stallion revealed to People that she’s taking online courses part-time at TSU to honor her late mother’s legacy.

“I want to get my degree because I really want my mom to be proud,” she said of her mother Holly Thomas, who died in March 2019 after battling brain cancer. “She saw me going to school before she passed.”

The rapper said her grandmother also played a significant role in her reason for staying in school despite her massive achievements, noting that she wants to make the women in her life proud.

“My grandmother that’s still alive used to be a teacher, so she’s on my butt about finishing school,” Megan Thee Stallion continued. “I’m doing it for me, but I’m also doing it for the women in my family who made me who I am today.”

College has kept Megan Thee Stallion ‘grounded’

Though she’s one of the most successful rappers in the world, Megan Thee Stallion has remained humble since skyrocketing to fame in 2019 and credits her college education for keeping her level-headed.

“School has kept me grounded,” the “Body” rapper recently told People. “I might have an amazing night but knowing I have to finish a paper, project or my homework to graduate, keeps my head on straight.”

Although she’s been doing it all herself, Megan Thee Stallion has balanced her many obligations for school and music with the help of her team, who’s kept her focused.

“I juggle it all with my great team, and I have really great time management,” she continued. “It is also really important to take time for what is important.”

Megan Thee Stallion has big plans for her degree after she graduates

While she’s been juggling a lot these last few years, Megan Thee Stallion won’t have to worry about schoolwork for much longer because she plans to graduate from TSU in the fall.

With her graduation approaching, the rapper already has an idea of what she wants to do with her degree moving forward. While explaining her post-graduation goals to People, Megan Thee Stallion shared that she plans to open an assisted living facility in her native Houston.

“I have always dreamt of opening an elder care facility to help the elderly,” she said. “I can’t wait to get with my classmates and put everyone to work helping our grandparents.”

As for what she has in store for her rapping career, Megan Thee Stallion is nowhere near done making new music for her hotties.

“I am keeping my next project pretty quiet but it will be a complete shock and complete surprise,” the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper teased. “I am just creating things that feel good to me right now.”
