In 2009, Jersey Shore introduced the world to eight fun-loving guidos and guidettes. After six seasons, the show ended in 2012. Fortunately for fans, many of the famed roommates returned in 2018 for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Find out wha. the roommates did between the original series and the reboot.

‘Snooki’ continued doing reality TV 

After Jersey Shore ended, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley starred in the reality series Snooki & JWoww. The show ran for four seasons from June 2012 to February 2015. It highlighted Polizzi’s marriage to Jionni LaValle and the births of Lorenzo and Giovanna. 

In 2015, Polizzi and Farley started another spinoff series, Snooki & Jwoww: Moms With Attitude. The following year, LaValle and Polizzi starred in the home renovation show Nicole & Jionni’s Shore Flip. When Jersey Shore: Family Vacation was announced, Polizzi made her return. Sadly, she will not be back for season 4. 

‘JWoww’ took the domesticated route

After Jersey Shore ended, Farley participated in Snooki & JWoww and Snooki & Jwoww: Moms With Attitude. She also competed in season 7 of Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition — and won! Outside of reality television, Farley married her now ex-husband, Roger Mathews, in October 2015. She gave birth to Meilani in July 2014, and Greyson in May 2016. Farley also returned to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in 2018, but won’t return for season 4.

Pauly’s DJ career took off 

After Jersey Shore, Pauly DelVecchio’s DJing career skyrocketed. In 2011, DelVecchio became the opening act for Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour. He also obtained a three-album deal with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Powerhouse.

He was the first roommate to have a spinoff series, The Pauly D Project. It aired in March 2012 for one season. The show followed DelVecchio during his nationwide tour. Throughout his career, DelVecchio has collaborated with artists like Jay Sean and James Kaye. DelVecchio continues to DJ around the world, but will be back for season 4 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

Vinny became the ‘Keto Guido’ 

When Jersey Shore ended, Vinny Guadagnino started his first clothing line, IHAV — I Have A Vision. Proceeds from the brand helped promote anti-bullying. He also wrote and published a book, Control The Crazy: My Plan To Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama, and Maintain Inner Cool

Guadagnino pursued other side projects outside of Jersey Shore, including The Show With Vinny — a talk show hosted in Guadagnino’s Staten Island residence. In 2015, Guadagnino was inspired to start a ketogenic diet after hearing Adam Carolla’s podcast. “He had a fitness expert on as a guest, Vinnie Tortorich, who started talking about this diet where you could get healthy and lose weight without giving up delicious things like bacon and butter,” Guadagnino explained (via New York Post). Overall, Guadagnino lost 50 pounds and transformed into the one and only “Keto Guido.”

‘The Situation’ ran into some legal trouble 

Like Polizzi, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino stayed in the reality TV circuit after Jersey Shore ended. Throughout 2012, he had small roles in shows like Suburgatory and The Choice. He was also a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother, coming in fourth place. In March 2012, Sorrentino publicly announced his addiction to oxycodone and entered into rehab, where he stayed for about a month.

In 2014, Sorrentino and his family had a reality series, The Sorrentinos, which followed Sorrentino on his journey to maintaining sobriety. Later that same year, Sorrentino was charged with tax fraud. More charges were added to Sorrentino’s sentence in 2017, including tax evasion and structuring of bank deposits. Sorrentino served his time while filming for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. His release was part of season 3, and he will return for season 4. 

Ron started seeing other people 

In 2014, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola’s relationship came to an end. The two allegedly tried make things work for a short time in 2016. Ortiz-Magro appeared on the second season of Famously Single in 2017, where he met Malika Haqq. The two dated for two months. Shortly after, Ortiz-Magro met Jen Harley. In December 2017, the couple announced they were expecting, but their tumultuous relationship fell apart in April 2018. 

Angelina pursued a music career 

Angelina Pivarnick had a short-lived music career after Jersey Shore, releasing the single “I’m Hot” in 2010 and “Gotta Go Out” in 2011. She also did reality shows like Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, the dating series Excused, TLC’s NY Ink, and VH1’s Couples Therapy with her former boyfriend, Chris Nirschel.

In 2012, Pivarnick came under fire for opposing gay marriage in a debate with Adam Barta. After criticism from Farley and Jersey Shore fans, Pivarnick issued a public apology and released a single with Barta called “Serendipity” as an homage to the LGBTQ community. Pivarnick returned to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation as a guest, becoming a full-time cast member in 2019. At this time, she is the sole female returning for season 4. 

Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ became an entrepreneur

After Jersey Shore ended, Giancola started a clothing and accessories line, Sweetheart Styles, in 2013. In 2015, she became a co-host on the Just Sayin podcast, where she would chat with Siggy Flicker and Clare Galterio about dating and celebrity rumors. In 2017, Giancola started dating her now-fiancé Christian Biscardi. The two are supposed to get married later this year.
