What Does Jed Duggar Do for a Living? The ‘Counting On’ Star Has Joined the Family Business

The Duggar Family have been stars of TLC since the debut of their first special, 14 Kids and Pregnant Again, in 2004. While the family’s show Counting On has officially been canceled due to Josh Duggar’s latest scandal, fans still like to keep up with the Duggar kids, their engagements, weddings, and pregnancy announcements. The latest Duggar kid to tie the knot and reveal a pregnancy announcement on social media is Jed Duggar. Read on to learn more about Duggar’s recent marriage, his wife, and how he financially supports his growing family. 

The latest Duggar wedding and pregnancy reveal 

Jed Duggar, the tenth child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 kids, has had a big year in 2021. The 22-year-old got married, started his own business, and found out he was about to be a father. The most shocking event for fans was actually Duggar’s wedding. Unlike his nine married siblings, Jed Duggar kept his courtship and engagement out of the public eye. Therefore, when Jed Duggar announced that he had married his 22-year-old bride, Katey Nakatsu, on April 3, 2021, Counting On fans were shocked. 

While Katey and Jed skipped the Duggar family fanfare when it came to their courtship, engagement, and wedding, the young couple is sticking to the Duggar family tradition when it comes to starting their family. Just months after tying the knot, Jed and Katey took to social media to announce that they are expecting their first child in the spring of 2022. While fans are happy for the couple, many also wonder how the 22-year-olds plan to support their growing family.    

A jack of all trades

When it comes to business, Jim Bob Duggar is known for being a jack of all trades and making money from a number of different avenues. Jim Bob and many of his children flip houses, run a used car dealership, and work in real estate. Just like his father, it seems like Jed Duggar is a jack of all trades. Prior to exchanging vows with his wife, Duggar was flipping houses and working at his family used car dealership in Arkansas. 

According to The Sun, Jed Duggar started his own real estate company in December 2020. Duggar calls his new business Ambassador Properties, LLC. The first property Duggar purchased under his LLC was .33 acres of land for $7,000. While Duggar might use the property to build a new house for his growing family, he’s got a pretty good setup right now as Jim Bob and Michelle have provided him and his new wife with a three-bedroom, three-bathroom, 2,180 square foot home to live in. So with all his business endeavors and support from his family, it doesn’t seem like Jed and Katey will have any problems when it comes to providing for their new baby.

Trying his hand at politics 

Along with working at the family car dealership and starting his own real estate company, Jed Duggar has followed in his father’s footsteps in another avenue, politics. According to Fandom, Jim Bob Duggar was a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. Twenty years later, Jed Duggar decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and try his hand at politics as well. 

In 2017, Jed Duggar began interning as a legislative assistant for Arkansas State Representative Charlene Fite. Two years later, Duggar decided to run for Arkansas State House District 89. At just 20-years-old, Duggar ran as a republican against democratic incumbent Megan Godfrey. Duggar lost the November 3, 2020, election by ten percentage points. But, just in his early 20s, Duggar may still have a long political career in front of him. Only time will tell what’s next for Jed Duggar and his growing family.
