Will Rio be out for revenge on ‘Good Girls’?

At the end of season 2, Rio (Manny Montana) calls Beth to his apartment where he has FBI agent Jimmy Turner (James Lesure) tied and beaten. He insists Beth kill Turner, but Beth shoots Rio instead. Beth goes home thinking she killed Rio, but little does she know, Turner saves Rio and turns him into an informant.

Now that Beth, Ruby, and Annie all think Rio is dead, they are no longer living in fear of him. But in the season 3 premiere, Rio is seen alive and well, living in a hotel room Turner set up for him. Rio gives Turner the location of an apparent drug deal in exchange for his freedom. But true to his nature, Rio betrays Turner and sends a group of shooters to kill him and his team. Rio walks out of the hotel like a boss, and he will likely come looking for Beth.

Beth, who feels guilty about killing Rio, is stepping up to help his ex Rhea (Jackie Cruz) and his son. The two are becoming good friends, but Rhea has no idea why Beth is being so nice to her. When Beth has no money to make her mortgage payment, Rhea writes her a check, noting her son’s father (Rio) set funds up for them.

So, there are now two reasons Rio might come looking for Beth. One, of course, is that she tried to kill him. But the other is that she’s now messing with his family. And if Agent Turner is really dead, it will be easy for Rio to find Beth and make her pay.

Agent Turner followed Beth, Annie, and Ruby’s criminal activities in season 2, but by the end of last season, he decided to let them go. His undercover operative Noah (Sam Huntington) ended up falling in love with Annie but was transferred to Arizona.

If Turner and his FBI team are dead or injured, Noah may have to return to Detroit to take over the case. But because of Noah’s soft spot for Annie, he might not give the ladies a hard time.

Will the Good Girls fall back into their illegal activities?

Season 3 opens with Beth, Annie, and Ruby scheming to print counterfeit cash. The trio is strapped for money yet again, so they conveniently dive back into their criminal ways. However, when Agent Turner shows up at Beth’s shop to let her know he has his eye on her, the ladies nix their plan and burn all the cash they printed.

But if the moms discover that Tuner was shot, they might see it as a green light to begin counterfeiting again.

The ‘Good Girls’ cast hints at what’s to come

In an interview with Hidden Remote, Manny Montana hinted that there will be some surprise guest stars this season and confirmed that Rio will work with Beth again. “I think it’s going to make it so fun because the girls were feeling really good, starting to make their own money,” said Montana. “They feel like nobody can cross them and then bam, here I come back out and mess things up.”

When talking to Today, Christina Hendricks revealed that Beth, Ruby, and Annie believe they know what they’re doing this season, but might be in over their heads. “They’re trying to sort of start their own empire this time,” she said. “They’re trying to take over the crime world themselves.”

Season 3 of Good Girls is already off to an exciting start, and there’s no telling what this trio of brave moms will do to keep their families afloat. New episodes of Good Girls air Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
