Miley Cyrus is friends with many fellow celebrities, but her relationship with British singer Yungblud has fans convinced that they’re more than just pals.
Recently, the duo sparked romance rumors after they were spotted getting cozy inside a Los Angeles restaurant. Since then, fans have been wondering what’s really going on between the pair. Are they dating, or are they just friends? Here’s everything you need to know about Cyrus and Yungblud’s relationship.
Recent photos of Miley Cyrus and Yungblud together sparked dating rumors
Does Cyrus have a new man in her life? That’s what many seemed to think when photos of her getting cozy with fellow musician Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, surfaced online.
On Mar. 26, the Daily Mail published snapshots of the pair partying it up at the Rainbow Room in LA while celebrating the 15th anniversary of Hannah Montana.
In the photos, the two can be seen taking shots and getting cozy throughout the night. At one point, the duo sat close to a fire pit while the “I Think I’m OKAY” singer touched Cyrus’ face and rested his legs on her lap as they chatted.
Another photo showed the Disney Channel alum nibbling on Yungblud’s fingers while he played with her hair.
Of course, that snapshot alone got people talking, with many speculating that the two are dating.
Miley Cyrus and Yungblud are not dating
Though it appeared as though Cyrus and Yungblud were an item in the photos, insiders say the pair are “just friends.”
“Miley and Yungblud are not dating,” a source tells Entertainment Tonight. “They are just buddies and were having a fun night out with friends.”
Although Yungblud isn’t dating Cyrus, he is however romantically involved with singer-songwriter Jesse Jo Stark, who is best friends with supermodel Bella Hadid.
According to Us Weekly, the pair has known each other for a long time but just recently started dating.
In July 2020, Stark was featured in the British singer’s music video for his song “Strawberry Lipstick.”
Two months later, the indie singer released her single “Die Young,” along with both the artwork for the track and some exclusive Polaroids taken by Yungblud.
“This picture makes me feel like I have nothing to hide – it’s raw, messy and true,” Stark told NME at the time. “It’s like I’ve died a thousand times and keep coming back more like myself. It reminds me to never try too hard to grow up. To save a seat for the dark parts – and to never feel bad about them. They always end up being the most beautiful.”
Yungblud’s relationship with Stark marks his first public romance since calling it quits from singer Halsey, whom he dated from November 2018 to September 2019.
Miley Cyrus is happily single
While Yungblud is currently tied down, Cyrus is still very much single.
The “Midnight Sky” singer last relationship was with musician Cody Simpson. The pair began dating in the fall of 2019 and seemed to have a good thing going until they called it quits a year later in August 2020.
Before Simpson, Cyrus had a brief fling with The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter, following her public split from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, whom she dated on and off for 10 years.
In February 2020, Cyrus tweeted about the perks of being single, writing, “Man. Being single sucks. All I ever do is WHATEVER THE F**K I WANT! Bahabahahahahabahahhahaha!”
But despite being a happily single lady, the singer is looking forward to dating again after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which she shared a clip of her saying in an accompanying clip she shared along with her tweet.
“I’m single now, you know,” she said, “after COVID I’m ready.”
