Where Would the Kardashian Family Be Today If Rob Sr. Were Still Alive?

Robert Kardashian Sr.’s passing changed his children’s lives forever. The LA lawyer and father of the famous Kardashian clan passed in September of 2003.

This year marked the 16th anniversary of his passing. It’s a day that his family remembers well. Every year, the Kardashian girls mark the anniversary with a tribute of some kind to their patriarch. 

Rob Sr. probably wouldn’t believe what his family has been up to in the years since he’s passed. He probably had no idea his daughters would go on to start one of the longest-running reality TV shows.

He may not have approved of all of their escapades, in fact, if he were alive, would there even be a Keeping Up with the Kardashians?

Robert Kardashian Sr. was conservative

Fans on Reddit recently posted a thread on what the Kardashian family would look like today if Robert had not gotten ill. In July of 2003, he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He passed a few short months later due to the illness. But if he were still here today, fans may have never gotten to know the Kardashians. 

Robert Sr. was very conservative. A lot of the antics that launched his family into the public eye were things he would have never approved of. For example, Kim’s sex tape and nudes have been released before, and there’s a fan theory that she released them herself for attention.

If her father were here, she would have probably thought twice about putting her intimate media out there.

Khloé Kardashian claims she was arrested because of Robert Kardashian Sr.

In the first season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian was arrested for a DUI. The moment is often named as the most scripted scene in the show’s history. Khloe was arrested, but not during the filming of the show. 

She claimed that the reason she was drinking was that she was distraught on the anniversary of her dad’s death. It would have been the third anniversary of her father’s untimely demise in September of 2007. That’s when the show filmed her arrest, but that’s not really when she was arrested.

In reality, she got the DUI in March of that year, and they re-enacted the moment for the show. 

The fact that Khloe was arrested months before the actual date of her father’s death kind of blows her excuse to pieces. Fans on reddit speculate that if Robert Sr. were alive today, Khloe would be more accountable for her actions. They think she would date better men, and maybe she would have never been arrested in the first place. 

Would Kim Kardashian have gone to law school if Robert Kardashian Sr. were still alive?

Kim’s father was a successful lawyer, and now she’s following in his footsteps. He catered to famous, elite clients. Kim is planning on taking a different path. She wants to push for justice reform with her law degree. However, fans think that if Robert were still alive, things might look really different for the Kardashian family. 

Some fans speculate that Kim and her sisters would have still gone down the same reality TV path, but without their father’s blessing. Since he had already died when they started their show, he couldn’t really oppose it. If he were still here today, they may have still started the Kardashian entertainment empire, but he may not have liked that.

Their great relationship is part of what interests Kim in the law. If there were a rift between them, Kim may not have wanted to become a lawyer like her father. 

The theory that people die a hero or live long enough to become the villain may apply here. If Robert Sr. had lived, it’s possible his relationship with his family may have soured at some point. Especially if they made questionable choices, like releasing a sex tape.
