Howard Stern is no stranger to controversy, mostly because the 65-year-old shock jock has no problem with speaking his mind … regardless of how others might perceive what is said. Most recently, Stern made headlines when he and talk show host Wendy Williams went head-to-head in a very brutal, public feud. After Williams called Stern “Hollywood” on her show, Stern responded with an extensive, explicit rant about just what he really thought of her.

While some fans have been following The Howard Stern Show since 1979, a new group of people has only recently been exposed to the unconventional talents and opinions that are Howard Stern. Now people want to know, who has Howard Stern feuded with besides Wendy Williams? Here’s what we know.

Jon Bon Jovi

Jon Bon Jovi is a rock musician who reached infinite success during the 1980s and early 1990s. His best known song is “Livin’ On A Prayer,” which even the most recent generations can undoubtedly sing the chorus to. Knowing that Bon Jovi thought enough of Howard Stern to ask him to write a speech for his induction into the Rock N’Roll Hall of Fame, it may seem a little crazy to think the two were once bitter enemies.

The feud essentially began because Howard Stern promoted the original band when nobody else would, but once they rose to fame they refused to be on his show. It was only with Jon Bon Jovi, but also with a mutual friend, Kinison. Howard Stern reconciled with Kinison after a fairly brief period, live on the air. It was until Kinison died in a car accident a few years later, however, that Stern and Bon Jovi were able to put away their differences.

Artie Lange

Comedian Artie Lange spent more than eight years as a companion host on The Howard Stern Show. Then, he began slipping into a very serious battle with both depression and addiction. He left the show to go to rehab, but when he came out Stern decided not to ask him back.

According to Howard Stern, this was meant to help Lange stay sober and healthy. That is not the way it was taken, however, and Lange has since professed that the two of them “hate each other’s guts.”

Jay Leno

Howard Stern has had a lot of nasty things to say about late night talk show host, Jay Leno. According to Leno, however, he doesn’t have anything bad to say about Stern these days. Leno went on to say that “…you’re not going to win a feud with Howard. Howard is good. If you start that feud, boom, you’re down. So if you just let it roll, it’s fine.” Maybe some of the others on this list should listen to that advice?

Adam Sandler

Comedian, actor, and produced Adam Sandler made a special guest appearance on The Howard Stern Show after many years of declining. Why? Howard Stern had spent years criticizing Sandler’s films. In response, Sandler had remained coldly silent – until he decided it had all just been too much and had gone on too long. Stern actually apologized on the air, and Sandler grudgingly accepted it.

Kathie Lee Gifford

Another talk show host that Howard Stern had a feud with was Kathie Lee Gifford. According to her,  however, it was all very one-sided. Over the course of 30 long years, Stern made numerous hurtful remarks about Gifford. She, however, has been very vocal about her Christian beliefs, and chose to use kindness to end the long feud. Apparently, it worked, because they made amends rather quickly after their first in-person meeting.
