HGTV’s Flip or Flop launched its ninth season in October. With hosts (and ex-spouses) Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa heading the show featuring a myriad of home renovation projects, the couple proves that their combined star power transcends divorce.

El Moussa is in the midst of wedding plans with Selling Sunset star Heather Young, while Anstead and second husband Ant Anstead recently called it quits. With many life changes for both reality stars, one may speculate on who has the bigger bank account.

Tarek El Moussa enjoys working with ex

El Moussa has continued his reality star status, adding shows like entitled Flipping 101 w/Tarek El Moussa to his portfolio. Yet Flip or Flop is the series that put El Moussa on the Hollywood map. Despite his split from Anstead in 2016, their working relationship has only gotten better.

“In general, it’s just easier now than it was a few years ago, going through the divorce and the separation,” he told Us Weekly in July 2019. “Filming together right now is the best it’s been in a very, very long time. The entire success of the show depends on our relationship, because if we don’t have a working relationship, we have no show, so there are some pretty good motivations to make sure that we’re doing what we need to do to continue what we’re doing.”

Whatever they’re doing is clearly working for them, with a tenth season of Flip or Flop already on deck for 2021. El Moussa is apparently clearing some serious income in the process, with his net worth listed at $10 million.

Christina Anstead shares ups and downs of 2020

Anstead recently populated the headlines by announcing her breakup with her husband of less than two years in September 2020. Co-parenting her two kids Taylor and Brayden whom she shares with El Moussa, and son Hudson from her marriage with Ant, the Christina on the Coast star commented on her search for inner peace in a previous post.

“2020 definitely is not at all what I imagined it to be – not even close,” Anstead wrote on Instagram earlier this month. “I also think there are soooo many lessons in all of this madness. I’ve been finding time to get to know myself more in the quiet. It can be isolating but it’s also helped me begin to heal and get less uncomfortable in ‘the void’. … Despite a lot of crap there have been some really magical times.”

Though her personal life has gone through some bumps, Anstead remains on the job. In addition to Flip or Flop, her show Christina on the Coast recently finished season 3. While a fourth season is still up in the air, the HGTV host is focusing on her new book The Wellness Remodel with co-author Cara Clark, as well as several other lifestyle branding projects.

Anstead’s hard work is paying off, bringing her 2020 net worth to $12 million.

‘Flip or Flop’ stars stay united on the work front

Though the two HGTV hosts are on different personal paths, El Moussa and Anstead continue to make a solid professional team. Anstead expressed her gratitude on Flip or Flop’s renewal in a recent social media post, including her kids and on-air partner in her sentiments.

“My goal was always a decade of tv,” she wrote on Instagram on Nov. 5. “It’s a big accomplishment in this industry and something @therealtarekelmoussa and I are both proud of… It has been one hell of a ride. 😜 I love the fact that Tay and Bray will get to look back at this journey and watch themselves grow up.”
