When it comes to trying to find out what movie in a franchise is the worst there are quite a few metrics to go by. You could check the excitement surrounding the release using the weekend debut gross. You could see just how much money the film made over its time in theaters. Or one could take to the internet and scour review sites and check star ratings.

For this Marvel lineup, we’re going to focus on ratings to see just which Marvel movie fans dislike the most.

5. ‘Thor’ (2011)

Thor stars Chris Hemsworth in the titular role alongside Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins. The film is a wonderful mixture of humor, sarcasm, and drama. Despite being a dazzling release that took audiences on a wild ride, the movie didn’t garner enough attention to escape Marvel’s five most disliked films. The Tomatometer rates Thor 77% with an audience score that’s on par with the critics’ consensus at 76% among 246,245 users.

4. ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (2015)

Avengers: Age of Ultron is one of the top contenders when you look at the commercial success of Marvel’s masterpieces. Despite doing well at the box office, the film left critics wanting more. While Avengers: Age of Ultron is a pretty satisfying sequel with over-the-top cinematics, memorable characters, and a worthy foe, viewers just couldn’t help feeling something was missing from the visual experience. Rotten Tomatoes gave the film 75% while the audience score fairs quite a bit better at 83%.

3. ‘Iron Man 2’ (2010)

Iron Man 2 ranks number three on our list with a Tomatometer rating of 73% and an audience score of 71% across over 457,000 users. The film, of course, brings back the beloved Robert Downey Jr. in the titular role alongside the beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow and unforgettable Don Cheadle.

Fans had already become acquainted with Tony Stark in the first Iron Man which hindered the sequel. But what the film lacked in regards to being a new take on an old character, it made up for with solid acting and an action-packed plot. Even the money the film made mirrors the sentiment with Iron Man making just a bit more than it’s successor!

2. ‘The Incredible Hulk’ (2008)

The Incredible Hulk was the second film Marvel released during phase one. The film came out just one month after Marvels debut film, Iron Man. Sadly, the second release just didn’t fair as good. The movie featured the infamous Bruce Banner with his uncontrollable urges. It wasn’t the first time Banner has been the star of his own film. Ang Lee also tried to tackle the troubled character, and while he did a great job, Marvel wanted to give it another go.

The Incredible Hulk didn’t even break 75% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Tomatometer rates the film at 67% while the audience score is only a tiny bit better at 70%.

1. ‘Thor: The Dark World’ (2013)

Thor: The Dark World came out during phase two of Marvel’s rollout. The prequel, Thor, did pretty well at the box office and garnered enough attention that the producers were excited to get started on the sequel. Unfortunately, despite Tom Hiddleston’s show-stealing character Loki, the film just didn’t have the same impact as its predecessor.

The film itself had a pretty great premise. It paired up Thor with Loki and pitted them against Malekith. The battle that ensued was intense and did a great job at help setting the stage for upcoming films. Despite having a pretty crazy showdown, the film only managed to get 66% on Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score is a bit better coming in at 76% among 309,522 users.Â
