The Super Bowl LIV is almost here, which means we’ll soon have a front-row seat to the exciting Halftime Show Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are prepared to give.

The superstars will be taking the stage on Feb. 2 to perform a 12-minute set that won’t only deliver a ‘message of unity,’ but will go down in history as the first Halftime Show to be headlined by two powerhouse females.

While many are looking forward to seeing what J. Lo and Shakira have in store for their performance, others are busy placing bets on certain aspects of the show, including which song Lopez will perform first during her portion of the NFL’s annual tradition.

J.Lo could be saving her most recent songs for last

J.Lo and Shakira are ready to take the stage for a performance they’re calling “a very important moment for U.S. Latinos.”

The global superstars have teased that their Halftime Show performance is going to be one to remember and are prepared to dominate the stage singing some of their biggest hits.

While we can assume the singers will be performing songs most people know and love, FiveThirtyEight writer, Josh Hermsmeyer, has predicted which song J.Lo will open up her set with, and his argument is pretty plausible.

Though J.Lo has delivered some huge hits over the course of her music career, sports-book experts seem to think that the Hustlers actress will open up with one of her “high-energy” tracks that fans respond well to.

Even Billboard‘s predicting that the singer will kick off her set with a medley of “Let’s Get Loud” and “On the Floor,” seeing as though these tracks have proven to be crowd-pleasers.

Though this is a pretty good prediction, Hermsmeyer thinks Lopez isn’t going with a top hit as her opener and is instead, kicking off her set with a song that didn’t perform as well on the Billboard charts.

In his article, Hermsmeyer points out that J.Lo has opened with her upbeat 2005 track “Get Right,” the most during her concerts, even though it only peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard top 100.

Though the song never landed in a top spot on the music charts, it’s definitely a crowd favorite and gets fans to their feet.

There’s also a chance Lopez could open with her 1999 single “If You Had My Love,” which she’s used as an opener for her concerts as recently as 2017.

She could open with a newly released single

While it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to assume J. Lo’s opening with a song that fans are familiar with, she could surprise everyone and kick off her performance with her most recent single “Medicine.”

According to FiveThirtyEight, the singer opened up with this track almost exclusively during her It’s My Party tour and could most likely be going that same route for this year’s Halftime Show.

The outlet also made a point to mention that since this is such a prestigious gig, some headliners choose to open with newly released singles to give fans a taste of what they can expect from the upcoming record and also drive album sales.

Back in 2018, Justin Timberlake opened with his new single, “Filthy,” off of his Man of the Woods album which dropped just two days before that year’s Super Bowl.

Whether J.Lo opens up with a new track or one of her classics, the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show is going to be groundbreaking and an experience we’ll never forget.
