Britney Spears’ conservatorship has been on the minds of her biggest fans since it was put in place back in 2008. But in recent years, it has come to light even more that Spears is unhappy with her father controlling her life.

When Britney was younger, she was raised just like any other American kid, alongside her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, and her brother, Bryan Spears. But why do we never hear anything about Britney’s brother?

Britney Spears’ sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, is a successful actress and singer

Britney, who is 39, has a sister about 10 years younger than her. Britney’s fans might recognize Jamie Lynn Spears from the hit Nickelodeon show Zoey 101, which ran from 2005-2008. There was speculation that Zoey 101 was cancelled due to Jamie Lynn becoming pregnant at 18, but the actress has since confirmed that the show actually wrapped up several months before the pregnancy was announced.

Once Britney shot to fame, Jamie Lynn often attended events with her big sister, and the two were frequently photographed. Jamie Lynn also rushed to defend her sister last summer, calling her a “badass” and striking down any hate from fans. It’s clear Britney and Jamie Lynn had a close relationship growing up, though there are far fewer photos of Britney with her older brother, Bryan Spears.

Who is Britney Spears’ brother, Bryan Spears?

Aside from having a sister 10 years younger, Britney also has a brother four years older. Bryan Spears, the oldest child of Jamie and Lynn Spears, is actually in the entertainment industry as well. Bryan is a 43-year-old film and television producer, though he doesn’t appear to be in the spotlight nearly as much as his siblings.

Bryan didn’t have much to do with Britney’s fame, but he started working as somewhat of a manager to the Spears family after Britney’s music career exploded. He attended various events with her earlier in her career, but he’s mostly stayed behind the camera rather than in front of it. On the other hand, Bryan was heavily involved in Jamie Lynn’s career. He served as the producer on a number of Jamie Lynn’s projects, and he even ended up marrying her manager, Graciella Sanchez, back in 2009.

According to NBC, Bryan is a trustee of a trust established in Britney’s name. In 2008, he received a $200,000 payment from Britney as a result of services rendered prior to her entering a conservatorship.

Is Britney Spears still close with her siblings?

It’s evident that Britney and Jamie Lynn still have a close relationship. Though Jamie Lynn has kept mostly silent on Britney’s mental health and conservatorship, the Zoey 101 star did clap back at fans on social media last summer, where she said it was not her place to talk about her sister’s private life.

Bryan Spears defended his sister last summer as well, saying on a podcast that Britney has “always wanted to get out” of the conservatorship, adding that it “has got to be frustrating” having someone constantly telling her what to do. However, according to Today, Bryan did add that the conservatorship has been “a great thing for our family” and that he still regularly communicates with his sister.
