Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has won plenty of NFL games in his short time with the team. He’s not only a successful coach but he’s one of the youngest as well. He’s seven years older than Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay, who is the youngest in the league, and one month older than San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan. Matt is also just four years older than his star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

What he’s done on Sundays is well documented but not much is known about personal life. Here’s more on Matt’s wife, BreAnne LaFleur.

BreAnne didn’t have the best impression of Matt when they first met

BreAnne Maak was born on July 2, 1983. She has one sister Balie Maak McKenzie. BreAnne attended high school in Marcellus, Michigan. She graduated in 2002 and enrolled in Central Michigan University and that’s where she met her future husband.

PackerNews.com noted that BreAnne was a student trainer when Matt coached the school’s football team in 2004. One day Matt needed her to move out of his way and according to BreAnne, he didn’t ask nicely.

“She said I yelled at her the first time I talked to her because she was in the way of a drill, but I don’t think that ever happened,” Matt said.

“I’m still firm that, yes, he did,” BreAnne countered. “He yelled for me to get out of the way. There probably was more vulgar language that I remember, he doesn’t.”

Her impression of him after that wasn’t good and she vowed never to work with him again. However, they ran into each other off the field as she worked at a tanning salon he frequented. Matt ended up asking her out, they began dating, and eventually tied the knot.

She worked as a pharmaceutical representative

Matt said when they got together he was open with BreAnne about what being married to a football coach would be like, and she has witnessed plenty of the changes he predicted could come.

Matt’s career took them from Michigan to Ohio to Texas to Washington, D.C., to Indiana to Georgia to California to Tennessee and 10 different houses before he was hired to coach the Green Bay Packers.

BreAnne workeed selling pharmaceuticals and previously talked about having to leave her job behind for her husband to further his.

“I have a career (as a pharmaceutical representative), where there aren’t a ton of jobs available. Hopefully, I can find a position where I can transfer,” she told MLive when Matt took a job in D.C.

How many children they have together

The couple has two sons together. Their oldest, Luke, was born in 2011. Then in 2013, they welcomed their second child, Ty.

BreAnne gushed about how Matt is as a father and how he’s always smiling.

“It’s amazing,” she said. “To see him go from this passionate football coach and coming home and doing nothing but wrestling with my kids, and having a great time. Always a smile on his face. He’s just an absolute people person, and that’s what I love most about him.”
