Trolls World Tour is finally available for purchase on VOD. And with its upbeat music and colorful characters, it’s the perfect stuck-at-home watch for families. The sequel features a host of fun new characters, including the villainous Queen Barb, who’s portrayed by actress Rachel Bloom

Who is Rachel Bloom and what else has she been in?

Rachel Bloom is an actress, singer, songwriter, and screenwriter who started her career in show business as an intern for Saturday Night Live. In 2013, Bloom released her first musical comedy album called Please Love Me, and later that year, she released another album, titled Suck it, Christmas. As an actress, Bloom was featured on episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Robot Chicken, BoJack Horseman, and The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange. 

Bloom then co-created CW musical comedy series, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She played the lead role of Rebecca Bunch for all four seasons. Her work in the show earned her numerous accolades, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Music and Lyrics, a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy, and a Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. 

In 2017, Bloom wrote the song “Super Friend” for a crossover episode of The Flash and Supergirl. The song was performed by the shows’ lead stars Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin.

In Trolls World Tour, Bloom plays the villainous Queen Barb. She is the queen of the Hard-rock Trolls. And when her father, King Thrash (Ozzy Osbourne) suggests she take the strings of all the other Troll tribes, she throws a big bash to sabotage their music.

Along with Bloom, the film features a number of other famous names, including Anna Kendrick,  Justin Timberlake, James Corden, Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly Clarkson, Jamie Dornan, Mary J. Blige, Kunal Nayyar, George Clinton, J Balvin, Kenan Thompson, Anderson Paak, and Sam Rockwell.

What is ‘Trolls World Tour’ about?

As the sequel to the 2016 Dreamworks animated film, Trolls, the new movie picks back up with Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake). As they begin adjusting to Poppy’s new life as queen, the friends find out that there are six other troll tribes in the world. One of those tribes is headed by the mischievous, Queen Barb. 

“A member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), aided by her father King Thrash (Ozzy Osbourne), wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme,” the movie’s official synopsis reads. “With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, along with their friends — Biggie (James Corden), Chenille (Caroline Hjelt), Satin (Aino Jawo), Cooper (Ron Funches) and Guy Diamond (Kunal Nayyar) — set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who’s looking to upstage them all.”

Due to coronavirus safety measures, theaters across the country closed their doors. To accommodate home audiences,  Dreamworks and Universal released Trolls World Tour digitally on April 10.
