’90 Day Fiancé’ has lost its spark, according to fans

On Reddit, a fan posted about how the show has no longer become interesting to them. The post begins, “Has anyone lost the 90 day spark?” The Reddit user explains, “Lately I have just not been interested! I will put it on but I am not paying attention, I don’t know if it’s just this season or what, but I wasn’t into HEA [Happily Ever After?] either.”

There was an overwhelming amount of fans who agreed with this statement. One fan wrote. “I’ve stopped watching. I just follow along here.” Another commented, “I gave up after the last season of normal 90. it’s so incredibly scripted and they give platforms to abusers and I just don’t have any interest in watching it anymore.”

’90 Day Fiancé’ fans explain what’s different

So what is different about the show? One fan mentions the overwhelming amount of spinoffs being produced by TLC and Sharp entertainment becoming too much. They wrote, “I think the amount of spinoffs has kinda given me ‘too much of a good thing’ feeling. Especially now that Bares All and Single Life are on the rise.’

Another fan commented about the casting choices. Fans have been confused about why 90 Day Fiancé chooses who they do to be on the show. Especially when it comes to returning cast members. The user wrote, “I tried to watch single life, I just couldn’t take it. It’s like they picked the most unlikable people and put them on a show. I’ve definitely lost interest in the whole franchise.”

Another 90 Day Fiancé fan mentioned another reason. Their comment reads: “Since it’s become obvious that the producers plan every single detail and scripted it the show has gone downhill plus fame-hungry people, unfortunately.”

What can TLC do to make ’90 Day Fiancé’ better?

So how could the producers make the show better? According to fans, bring back only the cast members that fans want to see. For example, on the upcoming 90 Day Fiancé: The Single Life, fans are livid with Big Ed Brown, Stephanie Matto, and Jesse Meester’s return to TV. They definitely are casting the stars based on their drama, not on their love stories.

Another thing that fans have mentioned that TLC should change is to stop creating more spinoffs. Instead, they should focus on getting the right cast members in the already established shows. Not to mention, many fans believe that the show has become ridiculously scripted. While there’s a level of preparedness and production involved in reality TV, the show is now teetering on the edge of fake.

This once beloved TLC show is starting to lose fans in droves. However, instead of TLC listening to the fans, they are casting people for the drama and not showcasing their actual love stories. Is there a way for TLC to get 90 Day Fiancé back to its roots? Well, that remains to be seen.
