The alleged affair between Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife, Nicole Murphy, and a married Hollywood director still has people up in arms. The latest to give her two cents on the situation is fellow actress, LisaRaye McCoy.
McCoy spoke out about Murphy when news broke that she was spotted kissing a married man and claimed she had a similar run-in with the former model. But a recent interview reveals that McCoy’s anger with Murphy is far from ending.
LisaRaye accuses Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife, Nicole Murphy, of having an affair with her ex-husband
Nicole Murphy found herself in the middle of a media frenzy and facing major backlash when photos surfaced of her kissing a married man. While on vacation in Italy, Murphy was spotted getting hot and heavy with the director, Antione Fuqua. Fuqua has been married to his wife, actress Lela Rochon Fuqua, for 20 years. As far as the public was concerned, the Fuquas were still an item, with Lela sharing photos to her Instagram account just months prior.
Raye was one of the first celebrities to comment when The Shade Room posted the photos of Fuqua and Murphy. “Gurl @nikimurphy you went after @iamlelarochon husband too? … SMH so wrong … again,” Raye wrote. When TMZ caught up with the actress, she claimed that Murphy had an inappropriate relationship with her ex-husband, Michael Missick. Raye was married to Misick from 2006 to 2008 and served as the First Lady of the Turks & Caicos Island during their union. The two divorced amidst rumors of Misick misappropriating government funds and infidelity.
“She messed around with my husband,” Raye told TMZ. “I don’t know if she’s a homewrecker, but she is wrecking it.”

The Fuqua’s remained silent, with Lela deactivating all of her social media accounts for weeks when the photos of her husband and Murphy went public. Murphy initially denied that anything was going on between her and Fuqua and claimed they were friends sharing a “friendly kiss.” She later backtracked and issued an apology, saying:
“Without going into the entire situation, I want to apologize to my family, and to Lela and the Fuqua family for what transpired. It was not my intention to be in this situation. I do not condone women kissing or interacting in any way inappropriately with a married man. I too was once married and I would never intentionally undermine another woman, despite what has been written.”
Murphy then appeared on The Wendy Williams Show after rumors surfaced that her ex-husband, Eddie Murphy, was embarrassed by her behavior and demanded that she clear things up. Murphy blamed the power of social media for heightening an already stressful situation. She also shot back at Raye, denying she was ever involved with Misick. When Williams asked about Raye’s allegations, Murphy responded, “It’s not true.”

Raye caught wind of Murphy’s interview and was livid. While appearing on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show to promote an upcoming project, she doubled down on her claims about Murphy and Misick. She even admitted that she once confronted Murphy face to face, saying:
“She did this play on words on the Wendy Williams Show. ‘I did not break up LisaRaye’s marriage.’ I was like, ‘No, b***h… No. I didn’t say that. I never said you broke up my marriage. That ain’t what I said.”
She then challenged Murphy to a meeting to sort things out.
“I was woman to woman about it when I stepped to her, so now she thinks I’m lying. I welcome you to come to me and tell me that in my face. Please and thank you. Yeah, let’s make that happen. I’ma let her play on words with that but she might wanna come and see me. She might want to see me and tell me that face to face. I would accept that.”
