Why ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ and ‘The Neighborhood’ Won’t Return With New Episodes Until After Thanksgiving

While 'Bob Hearts Abishola' Season 3 and 'The Neighborhood' Season 4 went on a one-week hiatus at the end of October, another one delays episode 8 of the sitcoms until after Thanksgiving. Between reruns and holiday specials, fans must wait a bit longer before Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Billy Gardell, and Folake Olowofoyeku return.

Unfortunately, Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3 and The Neighborhood Season 4 fans need to wait until after Thanksgiving for episode 8 to return. While the sitcoms saw a one-week delay in new episodes toward the end of October, this one looks to last an extra week due to the upcoming holidays.

The reason ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ and ‘The Neighborhood’ will not return until after Thanksgiving

Back in October, both Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3 and The Neighborhood Season 4 had their 6th episodes pushed back a week into November. However, the reason only came from November being ‘Sweeps Month.’

Viewership tends to be higher in November. The Neighborhood Season 4 has pulled in consistent viewers, while Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3 has increased viewers over season 2. Pushing new episodes back served as a boost for both shows.

However, the reason for the two-week hiatus comes partly from the Thanksgiving and the December holiday season. Who knew Christmas spirit would stop Bob Hearts Abishola and Cedric the Entertainer’s The Neighborhood from returning?

Shops have already thrown up their Christmas decorations, and TV stations schedule their Christmas specials.

What will air instead of ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ and ‘The Neighborhood’?

Since Bob Hearts Abishola and The Neighborhood won’t return with new episodes for two weeks, what occupies the timeslot?

Reruns of previous episodes for both shows air on November 15. According to the official CBS schedule, Bob Hearts Abishola, Season 2, Episode 14, “A Tough Old Bird” airs where Bob (Billy Gardell) and Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku) try to cheer up a heartbroken Kemi (Gina Yashere).

The Neighborhood Season 3, Episode 9, “Welcome to the Shakedown,” sees Calvin and Dave (Max Greenfield) try to find Gemma’s (Beth Behrs) stolen phone.

The following week, CBS scheduled Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer for November 22 in the 8 – 9 pm EST timeslot. The Christmas classic airs before Thanksgiving even hits.

This bumps both Chuck Lorre’s Bob Hearts Abishola and The Neighborhood from their usual time on Monday.

When will the CBS sitcoms return?

The biggest burning question remains when the two comedy shows return.

While fans may not want to wait until the end of November, Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3 and The Neighborhood Season 4 return after Thanksgiving on Monday, November 29, 2021.

Bob Hearts Abishola episode 7 had Abishola and Kemi trying to figure out what to do about Morenike (Tori Danner). She came out as gay. Since it remains something not accepted in Nigeria, both women resolved to keep her sexuality a secret for now.

In The Neighborhood Episode 7, Steelers and NFL legend Jerome Bettis guest-starred as Tichina Arnold’s ex. Of course, this caused Calvin to become extremely jealous.

As CBS brings in their holiday slate, new episodes of both Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3 and The Neighborhood Season 4 will return to our screens.
