BTS is one of the biggest boy bands in the world. They spoke at the United Nations, they were on the cover of Time Magazine, and they recently released their own mobile game, BTS World. Now, the group is enjoying success with their songs “Lights” and “Boy With Luv.” However, fans of BTS noticed something a little unique about this K-Pop group — the order in which they stand while posing for pictures.

Why does BTS always stand in the same order? Do they always introduce themselves the same way? Do they sit in the same order during interviews? Here’s what some fans noticed about this K-Pop group.

Does BTS always stand in the same order?

Ever since BTS became a group, they’ve stood in a similar order. The order usually is, from left to right, V, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, RM, Jimin, J-Hope. Sometimes RM and Jimin switch positions, but often this K-Pop group poses for pictures in this order. (Now that you noticed they take photos in this order, you won’t be able to un-see it.)

Could this order just be a coincidence? While the group has not confirmed the exact reason why they take pictures in this formation, some speculate that it helps newer fans identify each member. The order, of course, changes during live performances. Even during live interviews in the United States and in the United Kingdom, the group changes their seating, most likely because RM is fluent in English.

Do BTS members always introduce themselves in the same way?

Whether you’re worldwide handsome or you’re J-Hope’s hope, you might have noticed the boys often do the same introduction during interviews. Sometimes they sit in different positions during live interviews, however, they usually do similar introductions.

Jin often states that he’s “worldwide handsome.” J-Hope often states, “I’m your hope, you’re my hope, I’m J-Hope.” Of course, RM often introduces himself as the leader and translator of BTS.

Is RM the leader of BTS?

Although each member adds unique qualities to BTS, the “frontman” for the boy band is Namjoon, who goes by the stage name RM. He acts as the lead rapper, in addition to writing and producing music for the group.

RM also often serves as the translator for the group, as he is fluent in English, sitting the closest to the host during The Ellen Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Additionally, RM gave a speech at the United Nations on behalf of BTS, sharing the group’s message of self-love.

“Life has many unpredictable issues, problems, dilemmas,” RM said in an interview with Time Magazine. “But I think the most important thing to live well is to be yourself. We’re still trying to be us.”

The group’s video game, entitled BTS World, is available in the App Store. BTS’ film, Bring the Soul: The Movie premieres globally on August 7, 2019.
