Jamie Foxx is known in the public eye for many things. Over the years Foxx’s fans and followers have enjoyed his comedic skills, acting expertise, and kindhearted personality. Best known for his performances in films like Ray and Django Unchained, the Texas native has managed to stay quite busy, on and off the screen.

Though Foxx has never gotten married and notoriously keeps his personal life and romances under wraps, the same cannot always be said about his friend circle.

Foxx’s fans probably aren’t too surprised to learn that he once let Ed Sheeran crash on his couch for six weeks.

Take a closer look at Sheeran‘s impressive career and the details behind his unusual sleeping situation.

In February of 1991 Sheeran was born in Hebden Bridge, UK. Coming from an extremely creative family, art seemed to be an inevitable part of Sheeran’s life.

At just the age of four it became clear that Sheeran was passionate about singing based on his enthusiastic performances in one of the local church’s choir. When it came time for Sheeran to begin high school he was already exploring songwriting. In 2004, as BBC shared, with the help of his mom, he put out his very own demo, Spinning Man.

At the age of 16 Sheeran dropped out of high school and moved out to focus on his music full time. After spending some time in London, Sheeran decided his next move would be to head out to L.A., and off he went.

Ed Sheeran’s most memorable moments in the spotlight

After releasing an EP in 2011, Elton John made it clear that he wanted to work and represent Sheeran. This was the beginning of a new era for Sheeran. That same year the rising star released +, Sheeran’s first album. His debut album included hits like “The A Team” which majorly put the musician on the map.

Since Sheeran’s musical outbreak, he has not disappointed his fans and audiences. Shape of You, Photograph, and Give Me Love have been some of the singer and songwriter’s top hits. No.6 Collaborations Project, Sheeran’s most recent album, included fan-favorites like I Don’t Care and Beautiful People.

There is no arguing that the star has worked hard and come a long way, but he definitely has some people to thank for his success, and Foxx is one of them.

When Sheeran first arrived in Los Angeles he was still figuring a lot of things out. The musician had nowhere to stay. He spent the first few weeks going from couch to couch until he met Foxx. A radio show connected Foxx and Sheeran, and in no time, Sheeran became a guest in Foxx’s home.

Sheeran wound up living in Foxx’s home for six weeks. Strangely enough, this isn’t the first time Foxx has offered an up-and-coming celebrity somewhere to stay.

Anthony Hamilton and Nick Cannon are two other celebrities who have crashed at Foxx’s cribs. When speaking with ET Foxx explained, “You gotta press anybody that’s got that artistic feel, that touch, you’ve got to lift them up.” Foxx’s selfless act was inspirational to so many, and, of course, to Sheeran.

As many of Sheeran’s fans already know, during this time, Sheeran was on the cusp of making it big, and it is likely that Foxx’s influence definitely helped him out when he needed it most.
