Khloé Kardashian may be one of the most famous reality stars in the world, but when it comes to tattoos, she’s just like the rest of us. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has a few small tats etched onto her body — each one containing a special meaning. But there’s one piece of ink Kardashian fully regrets getting — and it’s one that honors her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.

Khloé Kardashian had a tough time coping with her father’s death

In July of 2003, Robert Kardashian Sr. was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. After a short-lived battle with the illness, he passed away in September of that year, leaving behind his four children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob Kardashian.

Following their father’s death, the Kardashian siblings tried their best to cope with the tragic loss. However, Khloé had a tough time accepting the famed attorney’s passing and turned to excessive partying and drinking to mask the pain of losing her dad.

“At the funeral, though, when I saw my father in his casket, I completely fell apart. I don’t remember the details, but apparently I was an emotional wreck, and I’m told that I was so distraught I actually passed out,” she revealed in her book Strong Looks Better Naked. “At one point I fell to the floor kicking and screaming, and I had to be sedated. It was really intense. I refused to believe my father was gone. I just wanted to believe it was all just a bad dream. That’s when the partying started.”

Kardashian’s partying and drinking got so out of control that she was arrested for a DUI in 2007, on the fourth anniversary of her dad’s passing.

Her first tattoo was in honor of Robert Kardashian Sr.

While grieving her father’s death, Kardashian decided to get a tattoo that would act as a tribute to the late attorney. The reality star had the word “daddy” permanently marked on her lower back, along with a cross and angel wings when she was 16.

Though the idea behind it was sweet, Kardashian was mocked mercilessly over the tattoo’s placement by critics who called it a “tramp stamp.”

Even big sister Kim Kardashian West once teased her about it, saying it was like putting “a bumper sticker on a Bentley.”

Though the tattoo seemed like a good idea at first, Kardashian started falling out of love with it as she got older.

In 2009, she told Ryan Secrest on his KIIS-FM radio show that she regrets the tat, noting that she wasn’t crazy about the ink’s placement. “On my lower back, I don’t like the location… I got a trendy location. It’s called a “tramp stamp,” she told the outlet.

Six years later, Kardashian began the process of having the regrettable ink removed from her lower back, posting a video of cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Simon Ourian lasering away her “tramp stamp” to Instagram.

“The end of an era…. Got this bad boy when I was 16…. Not so cute anymore🙊 I should’ve listened to Kim when she told me “you don’t put a bumper sticker on a Bentley.” Bye-bye bumper sticker!!! Thank you Dr Ourian!!!! You are the best!” she captioned the black-and-white clip.

Over the next two years, Kardashian continued laser removal treatments and recorded the uncomfortable process on her Snapchat.

Khloé Kardashian has since had the ink removed

As of 2017, Kardashian no longer has her regrettable “Daddy’ tattoo etched into her skin. However, she does have another piece of ink that honors her late father.

After removing her first tattoo, Koko still wanted to pay tribute to her dad with a meaningful piece of artwork. But this time around, she went with ink that was a lot more subtle.

Kardashian had “I love you” tattooed in her dad’s handwriting on the inside of her wrist. During a 2009 interview with Wendy Williams, she explained that the writing was taken from a birthday card he’d written her.

The reality star also showed off her another tat, which was of ex-husband Lamar Odom’s initials. Though that relationship ended up not working out, Kardashian still hasn’t removed the ink she got in honor of Odom.

But even if she wanted to, it’s likely the pain of getting another tattoo is something Kardashian doesn’t want to put herself through ever again.
