Why Kourtney Kardashian Didn’t Want Kris Jenner’s Help With Poosh

Kourtney Kardashian wanted to launch her own lifestyle website and that’s exactly what she did — creating Poosh.com without her mother Kris Jenner’s help. Jenner has successfully helped her children with their business ventures, but Kardashian wanted to figure this one out on her own. She did have the benefit of learning from her mom over the years, however.

Kardashian explained why she didn’t want help

During an interview with Jason Kennedy for his show In the Room, he asked Kardashian about her site and why she didn’t lean on her mom to get it up and running. She explained that it was important to her to do the site “on my own,” sharing, “I felt like, I didn’t need her help.”

She added, “I just really felt like it was something I could do on my own with the right team.” It wasn’t a big deal, according to Kardashian, because it’s not really Jenner’s “thing.”

She learned something invaluable about business from her mom

Though the famous momager didn’t directly help with Poosh, she has provided some amazing insight for her daughters over the years and Kardashian was able to use that knowledge.

Jenner has taught her family, “don’t take no for an answer,” according to Kardashian, who admitted that she and her sisters are “a little scary, at times, when it comes to business.”

“My mom always taught us, ‘If you hear the answer no, you’re asking the wrong person,'” Kardashian explained. She also shared how she worked for her mom one summer in college and it provided some interesting insight.

“I learned so much just from hearing how she talks on the phone,” the Poosh creator noted. “She’s not unkind, both my parents were always very kind to people.”

Jenner shared her philosophy in a 2015 interview with The New York Times Magazine. “There’s a lot of people that have great ideas and dreams and whatnot, but unless you’re willing to work really, really hard, and work for what you want, it’s never going to happen,” she explained. “And that’s what’s so great about the girls. It’s all about their work ethic.”

Kardashian says she ‘feels amazing’ at 40

Kardashian hit a milestone this year when she turned 40 but it’s just a number, she noted, as she said she “feels amazing.”

“There was this pressure, I think of where you think you’re supposed to be at a certain age,” she explained, adding, “I think, for some reason, 40 for me really made me analyze my life. And I just felt really overwhelmed.”

The reality star said she “would cry daily for no reason” but she finally accepted this new chapter.

“There was intense pressure from everyone. Like, ‘You have to look the best you’ve ever looked walking down the stairs to your party!’,” she shared. “I don’t like being the center of attention, so I didn’t even know if I wanted a party. I woke up on my birthday though feeling so good.”
