Kourtney Kardashian isn’t quite done with Keeping Up With the Kardashians but she’s reportedly very happy to be filming less for the series. In part, she’s looking out for her kids’ privacy as they get older, but there is still some drama to unfold about the matter on season 18.

Things got tense in the family

By the end of KUWTK season 17, it was clear that Kourtney was stressed out. From having her family squabbles filmed to having a crew following her every move, she wanted out of the reality show.

Things got heated between Kourtney and her sisters Kim and Khloe when they tracked her down and called her out for not pulling her weight. Her sisters were angry that they had to step up and fill in the content that Kourtney wasn’t provided.

“Our job is being open and honest and sharing a lot of ourselves, and it just seems for the past few years now, Kourtney hasn’t really been open about her personal life on camera. So all of the days that Kourtney isn’t filming, Khloe and I are picking up the slack and having to share more. Cause if we’re not sharing our lives, then what is the show?,” Kim explained to the camera.

Kourtney Kardashian reached her ‘breaking point’

On the season 17 finale, Kourtney expressed how she had reached her “breaking point” and wanted privacy for herself and her kids.

“What I’m saying is I’m getting to the point where I’m not happy. Everyone has their breaking point,” Kourtney explained, adding, “Life is short. It’s not all about filming this show.”

She admitted in a confessional: “It’s not okay that I feel like I’m at my breaking point. I need a break and I don’t want to film anymore.”

Kourtney reportedly has no regrets about giving up some of the spotlight on the reality show, with a source telling People: “She is happy to be filming less for both herself and the kids.”

“As Kourtney and Scott’s kids get older, especially Kourtney feels that public exposure is not really beneficial for the kids,” the insider added. “There are already trolls that post nasty comments about the kids. They are too young to read about it yet, but Kourtney would hate for them to read it as they get older. She feels more and more protective of the kids.”

There’s more drama to come

More of the drama with Kourtney will play out in season 18, as she’s not entirely done with the show, but she has cut back quite a bit. Kim teased that fans can expect things will get worse between them but assures it will turn out fine.

Kim shared that things between her and Kourtney will get “a little violent.”

“It gets a lot worse before it gets better,” she shared on Laura Wasser’s podcast All’s Fair. “But you know, we’re a really close family. It all works out.”

Kim shared during an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that Kourtney is still on the show — after all, fans have to see how the season 17 drama plays out.

“We’ve come to the conclusion that [Kourtney will] film a little bit,” Kim explained, adding, “I don’t even know if we have a conclusion, actually. It’s always up in the air.”
