Actress Kristen Bell rose to fame in the mid-2000s as the main character in the teen drama Veronica Mars. These days, she is in a different stage of her life. Bell is still an actress, but she is also a mother to young children.

Bell has been quite open with fans about the ups and downs of parenting, noting that it is surely not an easy job. However, it seems Bell is only getting started. She recently shared that she could see her daughters becoming a ‘nightmare’ in the future.

How many kids does Kristen Bell have?

Bell is currently married to fellow actor Dax Shepard. They started dating in 2007 and got married in 2013. Bell and Shepard have made it no secret that their relationship can be rocky at times, but the couple often tries their best to make things work. As a result, they seem to have managed to achieve longevity in an industry where divorces run rampant.

Bell and Shepard have two daughters together: Lincoln (born 2013) and Delta (born 2014).

What is Bell’s parenting style like?

Bell and Shepard’s relationship is able to work out due to constant communications and mutual respect. They even attend couple’s therapy sessions and encourage everyone in a relationship to do the same.

Because of this, Bell and Shepard’s parenting style also involves teaching their daughters how to communicate with and respect other people.

For example, despite the fact that Bell and Shepard are famous actors with a lot of money in their bank accounts, Bell has revealed she wants her two daughters to share a room together. She told Self in March 2020: “I like the fact that they will have to figure out how to share a bedroom, figure out how to share [a] closet, figure out how to share space. If that’s the worst thing about your life, that you have to share a bedroom with your sister, you’re going to be OK.”

In 2016, Bell also shared with Us Weekly that she disciplines her kids by waiting out their tantrums before trying to talk to them about their behaviors.

Additionally, she makes sure to always teach them the importance of showing respect to each other. On the Motherly Podcast in March 2020, Bell revealed she and Shepard try to apologize to each other in front of their kids to impart on them some conflict resolution skills.

Why does Bell think her daughters will be a ‘nightmare’ as they grow up?

Bell and Shepard’s parenting style will surely help turn their daughters into kind, compassionate young adults. However, Bell admits she could also see them being a “nightmare.”

The reason why Bell and Shepard’s daughters could be a “nightmare” to their parents and society is because Bell and Shepard want them to be opinionated. Amid the recent Black Lives Matter protests, Bell told Channel Q’s The Morning Beat that she and her husband are actively teaching their kids about anti-racism and encouraging them to always stand up for what is right.

“My husband and I are very opinionated. We talk a lot. Our kids are a nightmare. They’re a nightmare because they will tell you your opinion,” Bell said. “We constantly joke about the fact that we’re raising two girls that — they’re going to be a nightmare for 18 years. But God bless when we send them into the world, they are going to be formidable, opinionated, kind, morally-compassed women.”
