ABC’s The View has seen its share of co-hosts over the years. The current panel of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meghan McCain, and Sunny Hostin are now in search of a panelist to fill the seat vacated by conservative Abby Huntsman.

This former co-host’s recently welcomed her first child in November. Now married and a new mom at 40 years old, she recently commented on why she gravitated toward family life despite never having marriage and kids as a main goal.

Career and marriage

Conservative co-host Jedediah Bila served as a panelist on The View from 2016 to 2017, according to Closer Weekly. After her stint on the ABC daytime talk show, Bila took a seat as co-host on Fox & Friends.

Bila was 36 years old when she met businessman Jeremy Scher, which ended up changing her direction. Finding love in her late 30s seemed right on time for Bila.

“This world would be a better place if people just realized that there’s no written-in-stone set time to do anything,” she told Parade in August. “You could meet the love of your life at 18 or 48. You could become an amazing mom and be in the right head for that incredible journey at 24 or 42.”

The two tied the knot in February 2018. “We’ve been living together for a while and we go through the daily grind and all that, but I think there’s only one moment in your life where you’re in front of the minister and you’re saying your vows,” Bila told Us Weekly at the time. “And you’re like, ‘My life is gonna be different from here on and I’m gonna be married.’ It’s really exciting and warm and wonderful.”

Change of plans

Bila and Scher welcomed son Hartley in November. She revealed that becoming a wife and mother had never fully been on her radar despite others thinking it should be tops on her list.

“Once I hit 25, people started asking me about marriage and kids all the time,” she told Parade. “I remember hitting 35 and some would ask the same questions with a strange tone, as if my life was somehow over because I hadn’t yet settled into their version of happiness.”

Though her path clearly took an unexpected turn, Bila feels that life should just naturally unfold rather than being dictated by age. “This world would be a better place if people just realized that there’s no written-in-stone set time to do anything,” she said. “You could meet the love of your life at 18 or 48. You could become an amazing mom and be in the right head for that incredible journey at 24 or 42.”

And baby makes three

Now thoroughly enjoying marriage and motherhood, Bila admits that she previously didn’t have a strong yearning to start a family. “I honestly didn’t always want kids,” the former View co-host shared. “For a very long time, it just wasn’t a path I saw myself on. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to get married!”

Apparently, it took meeting that special someone to revamp Bila’s path. “When I met Jeremy, things changed for me and I can’t really explain it all. I just started to see my life path naturally grow and embrace things it hadn’t before,” she revealed. “I’ve always been a ‘let life take you where it takes you’ kind of woman, and suddenly the idea of marriage and a baby took on a whole new feeling for me that just felt right.”
