Bravo announced that Below Deck Mediterranean Season 5 will have a virtual reunion, but that doesn’t necessarily mean every crew member will be in attendance.

Logistics have made previous reunions a challenge. Some fans were upset when Below Deck Med Season 4 added an extra episode in lieu of a reunion. However, some crew members had already departed to shoot season 5. So a reunion wasn’t possible.

While a virtual reunion takes logistics out of the equation, is it possible a few crew members won’t be invited or will refuse to attend? It has happened with some crew members in the past.

Some crew members may not be included (or agree to return)

Deckhand Pete Hunziker is one crew member who is unlikely to receive an invitation to the reunion. Hunziker was fired by Bravo and production company 51 Minds shortly after the season debuted.

Hunziker shared a racist and violent meme on Instagram and was digitally removed from the show. He no longer appears in the opening credits and producers vowed to minimize his image on subsequent shows. Hunziker is so far removed from the show some fans forgot he was on the series.

Other crew members who are still in question include chef Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran, second stew Lara Flumiani and chief stew Hannah Ferrier. Although Lorran departed, he was a fan favorite and seemed to have no hard feelings. Flumiani was only on the show for a few episodes. So it is unclear if her storyline warrants a return.

Ferrier, however, was fired after being the chief stew for nearly five seasons. She has unfinished business, specifically with Captain Sandy Yawn and bosun Malia White. Her return for the reunion would possibly allow for some sense of closure. At the same time, Ferrier is pregnant and is due in October, which is likely when the reunion would be filmed.

Crew members have been excluded (or refused to return) in the past

Caroline Bedol from Below Deck Season 6 wasn’t at her reunion and claims she was banned from attending it. “I was blackballed from the reunion because they did not want the harassment to be exposed,” she shared in a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything. “But Andy was truly brilliant bc he aired the unseen footage, so really my absence did not prevent the toxicity of this environment from being exposed!”

Chandler Brooks, also from season 6 was fired. He did not attend the reunion but no reason was given. Other cast members who were not invited or skipped the reunion were chef Leon Walker and Dane Jackson from Below Deck Season 3.

However, Andrew Sturby, who was fired on season 2 returned for the reunion. Plus Don Abenante who suddenly quit during season 3 also reunited with the crew.
