Fans havenā€™t seen the last of Baby Yoda and his bounty hunter best friend. In fact, according to one cast member, the award-winning series, The Mandalorian, is just scratching the surface with seasons 1 and 2.Ā 

Will this Star Wars series return for seasons 3 and 4? Hereā€™s what we know about this Disney+ original series.Ā 

Season 4 of ā€˜The Mandalorianā€™ is confirmed for Disneyā€™s streaming platform

The Mandalorian was one of the first Disney+ exclusive television shows. It was also Star Warsā€™ first-ever live-action series, showing a new corner of the galaxy far, far away. This series takes place after the fall of the Empire, with one bounty hunter who comes across a rather valuable asset.Ā 

With season 3 confirmed and set to start production during 2020, some are looking toward the future. Although thereā€™s no premiere date or confirmed cast list, Disney+ will create a season 4 of this Star Wars television show.

ā€˜Star Warsā€™ fans will start to get answers during seasons 3 and 4, according to 1 cast member

Fans are just starting to see what powers the Child holds. During an interview with People, Giancarlo Esposito, the actor behind the dark-saber wielding villain Moff Gideon commented on the future of The Mandalorian. That includes the showā€™s plans for seasons 3 and 4.Ā 

ā€œWeā€™re living in a universe thatā€™s huge, and thereā€™s so much to explore,ā€ he said. ā€œSo I think this show is going to start to lay the groundwork for the depth and breadth thatā€™s going to come in season 3 and season 4, where youā€™re really gonna start to get answers.ā€

Season 3 of ā€˜The Mandalorianā€™ is set to start filming during 2020 ā€” coronavirus (COVID-19) permitting

Yes, there will be a third and fourth season of this live-action Star Wars series. There is, however, no exact premiere dates set for these upcoming seasons.

Some fans expect season 3 to premiere during fall 2021, about a year following the release of season 2.Ā However, production may be paused due to stay-at-home orders.

Other Disney+ exclusive shows have postponed filming due to the pandemic, including season 2 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.) More information will presumably be announced in the coming weeks.Ā 

Until season 3ā€™s premiere, there are still some new adventures featuring the Child and the Mandalorian available on Disneyā€™s streaming service. Thatā€™s thanks to the second season of this original series, in which the main character tries to reunite the Child with its tribe ā€” the Jedis.Ā
