Yellowstone takes viewers inside the lives of the Dutton family on their massive Montana ranch. Their land borders Yellowstone National Park, hence the show’s name.

Yellowstone has no shortage of drama. There are unsolved murders, questionable business deals, and ongoing conflicts with neighbors.

Academy Award-winner Kevin Costner plays John Dutton, the head of the Dutton family. He’s responsible for overseeing ranch operations. Costner earns $500,000 per Yellowstone episode. Not too shabby considering the program is the actor’s first regular TV role.

Costner shoots Yellowstone on location with his co-stars. His fellow Dutton family members are played by Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Cole Hauser (Rip Dutton), Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton), and Kelsey Chow (Monica Dutton). Gil Birmingham (Twilight series) plays Cheif Thomas Rainwater.

Then there’s Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone. When he isn’t writing, directing, or producing the series, Sheridan’s in front of the camera playing horsetrader Travis Wheatly.

Yellowstone Season 2 Episode 7: “Ressurection Day” is ranked the best episode of the series, according to IMDb. Out of 923 reviews, it has 9.5 stars out of 10.

Not to give too much away, here’s the site’s general description of the episode: “Tensions escalate as the Beck brothers become frustrated by the Duttons’ unwillingness to play ball; Jamie looks for a fresh start at the ranch.”

What makes “Ressurection Day” so popular with Yellowstone fans? It runs the gamut of emotions. There’s drama, suspense, and top-notch writing from John Coveny, Ian McCulloch, and Sheridan. Directed by Ben Richardson, Yellowstone filmed the episode in Utah.

Coming in a close second to “Ressurection Day” is Yellowstone Season 3 Episode 10: “The World Is Purple.” Out of 525 reviews, it has an average of 9.2 stars of 10. Ending on a major cliffhanger, the season finale left fans wondering about the future of the Dutton family.

Filming on ‘Yellowstone’ Season 4 is underway

Good news, Yellowstone fans. New episodes are already being filmed. Montana’s Chief Joseph Ranch, one of the show’s filming locations, took to Instagram on August 20, 2020, to share an update. They announced filming on season 4 is underway with the necessary coronavirus “medical precautions.”

Programming changes at Paramount Network could mean back-to-back episodes of Yellowstone with fewer commercials, according to Variety.
