Cam Newton has risen to prominence in the NFL as one of the most exciting players to watch. That saw him become a franchise cornerstone for the Carolina Panthers for many years before that came to an end earlier this offseason. Beyond Newton still being unable to find a new team yet in free agency, what is more surprising is the number of kids that he has fathered.

Cam Newton’s NFL career

Through his first nine years in the league, Cam Newton has established himself as one of the better quarterbacks in the league.

He spent that entire time with the Panthers, where he experienced much success by showcasing his dual-threat ability as a passer and a runner. That helped him earn three Pro Bowl selections, a First-Team All-Pro nod, an Offensive Player of the Year award, and a regular-season MVP award. Newton also led the Panthers to a Super Bowl 50 appearance in his MVP season in 2015.

Cam Newton is one of the most physically gifted quarterbacks in the league that has been quite difficult for opposing defenses to gameplan against him. Injuries have piled up over the last couple of years, which has led to his release from the Carolina Panthers this offseason. That has put him in entirely new territory for the first time in his career.

Cam Newton has fathered seven kids

Throughout his career, Cam Newton was the face of the franchise for the Panthers, leading them on the field.

Newton’s life off the field has been quite busy as he has his hands full with the numerous children he has fathered. The 31-year-old revealed on Father’s Day that he is the father to seven children named Jaden, Shakira, Chosen, Sovereign-Dio, Camidas, Caesar, and Cashmere. Newton voiced on Instagram how proud he was to have his children.

“A daddy isn’t defined as the man who makes the child (not an all instances) but rather a MAN who extends his hands and time to help with the child’s raising and his heart to LOVE the child through anything! Blood doesn’t always make you DADDY being a dad comes from the heart. Anybody can make a baby but it takes a real man to raise a child! Kudos to all the real men worldwide happy Father’s Day to us.”

That should make for quite a busy life off the field to have to help take care of his seven kids. It should be noted that Newton has made more than $120 million over his career.

It has been nothing short of an intriguing offseason for Cam Newton as he has remained in free agency for the last few months.

There have been many factors at play that have led to him remaining off an NFL roster. Teams had been unable to bring him in for a physical to see where he’s at physically at this point in his career. Meanwhile, there are questions about whether he would accept taking on a backup role. What also is playing a factor is there are not a lot of situations out there where teams need help at the quarterback position.

Teams such as the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Chargers, and New England Patriots have all taken a pass on him. Newton has plenty of motivation that he can still play at an elite level, which may drive him to push for a chance to compete for a starting spot wherever he is to sign. That will come down to him proving that he can stay healthy as he’s had the last couple of seasons end abruptly due to injuries that have required surgeries.

Nonetheless, he has the talent that belongs in the NFL, and it’s only a matter of time before he joins another team.
