He makes his first appearance in Yumi’s Cells Episode 8 while Yu-mi is on a jog. He recognizes her and explains he found her lost fried egg umbrella.

From the start, fans were enamored with Babi’s good looks and kindness. But Babi made it very clear that he was in a committed long-term relationship. They meet the following day as Babi and Yu-mi have the same interest in jogging along the same path. Fans soon realized that while Babi may have a girlfriend, he runs into Yu-mi more often than not.

They meet again but this time at the supermarket. Babi is looking for ingredients to make dinner for his girlfriend, and Yu-mi gives him a recipe to make tartar sauce. Babi goes through a hard breakup that Yu-mi witnesses

Yumi’s Cells Episode 10 marks a shift between Babi and Yu-mi. After Christmas, they meet at the office, and fans learn Babi spent the holiday alone. He also reveals that he is a big fan of Yu-mi’s short poems on social media. This is the scene where things change for Yu-mi when Babi asks if she is willing to use her writing skills for the marketing department.

Babi is the first and only one to really compliment her on her skills as a possible writer. This leads to the head of the marketing department offering Yu-mi a new position. A few days later, she meets Babi in front of the elevators and agrees to join the team. The interactions between them take on a more heart-fluttering feel. Babi says casually he is happy she is joining, leaving Yu-mi stunned.

The following episode is when things take a major turn. Yu-mi’s heart is broken when Woong does not return her marriage proposal. She escapes to a nearby cafe where Babi happens to be. But they do not see each other. Yu-mi witnesses Babi’s girlfriend breaking up with him and returning their couple ring.

The air between them shifts again as Yu-mi feels awkward having witnessed it. Days later, during an office meeting, the team talks about Babi having a crush on a colleague. They explain her name has the letter “U” in it. Yu-mi and fans speculate it is her.
