In the clip, Gadot is wearing her white business suit as present day Diana Prince. She’s in a cave exploring by torchlight and she comes upon artwork with Amazonian symbols and lettering. An unseen voiceover speaks.

“The bell’s already been rung,” they say. “And they’ve heard it. But in the dark, among the stars, ding dong, the goddess did.”

Prince reacts silently to the words. The clip ends with a look a the the apocalyptic setting of the final battle with Steppenwolf in the theatrical cut. Only now it’s Darkseid.

The long road to ‘Justice League’

After Snyder made the Superman movie Man of Steel, he continued on his path building up Warner Brothers’ DC superhero movie universe. His sequel to Man of Steel was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That film introduced Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) along with returning Superman (Henry Cavill).

Batman v Superman set up the Justice League movie, which was originally going to be a two parter. However, critical and audience feedback to the film led to hasty changes. Justice League became one film, and the studio issued a mandate to make it lighter and more fun.

Then tragedy struck the Snyder family. His daughter died by suicide and he could not finish the film. Warner Brothers hired Joss Whedon to write and direct reshoots. Ever since its release on November 17, 2017, fans have demanded Warner Brothers #ReleasetheSnyderCut. Snyder has teased that he had enough material to compose his intended version of Justice League and his cast members have confirmed his version.

What to expect on HBO Max

Early details of Zack Snyder’s Justice League are already enticing. Snyder and his wife, producer Deborah Snyder, told The Hollywood Reporter in May that his cut could run four hours. They might release it in six chapters.
Snyder estimated only ¼ of his footage was in the theatrical release of Justice League.

While he will not be able to shoot additional scenes, as he once teased on his Vero account, Warner Brothers is spending at least $20 million to reassemble Snyder’s Justice League. That will include bringing back actors to record additional dialogue, and yes, putting Darkseid back in the movie. That money will go towards visual effects houses completing work on scenes, they said.
