Recently, Zendaya made history when she took home her very first Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Naturally, her fellow Euphoria castmates were cheering her on, but Reid was certainly one of her most enthusiastic supporters. Reid recorded herself waiting on bated breath to see if her TV sister would take home the coveted role; even hilariously shushing her barking dog. When Zendaya was announced the winner, Reid leaped impressively into the air, overcome with happiness for her friend and colleague.

Reid has also been very open with how much she looks up to Zendaya and how talented she find the Spider-Man: Far From Home star to be. Back in June of 2019, Reid even shared an old video of herself being interviewed on the red carpet where she expressed admiration for Zendaya. But the lovefest between the two actors actually goes both ways. Zendaya has also been very vocal about how talented she finds Reid to be.

In an interview with Collider, Zendaya got candid about how important the relationship between Gia and Rue is on Euphoria. The Malcolm & Marie star shared that she felt that Gia is one of the sole reasons that Rue does her best to get clean. “I hadn’t gotten to read the other episodes, so I didn’t really know much about what was going to happen to Rue, at all, and I said, ‘I really hope that she makes it through, or that she stays clean, and I know the one reason will be Gia,'” Zendaya share about her reaction to reading the pilot episode of Euphoria.

Zendaya also took the opportunity to gush about Reid and the level of depth that she brings to her Euphoria character. In fact, Zendaya shared that Reid has the uncanny ability to drop into the deep emotion that a scene requires almost instantaneously. “Baby Storm [Reid] is so good,” Zendaya shared. “She’s so talented. It’s crazy. She can go there, at the drop of a hat. I can’t do that. It takes me a second to be on camera.”

And Zendaya isn’t the only one who is in awe of Reid’s incredible talents. Sam Levinson (who wrote and created Euphoria) also echoed Zendaya’s sentiments on how mesmerizing Reid is on camera. “We’ll be shooting a scene, and then suddenly, it’s time to do Storm’s close-up, so we turn the camera around and say, ‘Action!,’ and it’s just the most fuc*ing breathtaking performance,” Levinson said. “Every single person behind the camera, from hair and make-up to the script supervisors, are just like, ‘Holy shit.’ She can just turn it on, and then turn it right off. It’s astounding.”
