Despite her young age, Zendaya is pretty well-traveled. Thanks to her career, the Euphoria star has gotten the opportunity to travel around the world. And while the Emmy winner admits that she’s somewhat of a homebody, and enjoys spending copious amounts of time at home watching the Harry Potter movies on repeat, she also enjoys having the opportunity to explore new places and learn about new cultures as well.

Of course, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has certainly thrown a wrench in Zendaya’s travel plans. Thanks to the virus a lot of Zendaya’s acting jobs and travel plans have been put on hold. And the “Replay” singer doesn’t expect that things will return to normal anytime soon. While she understands the necessity of the safety precautions, she’s also feeling a sense of wanderlust as well.

Zendaya loves that she gets to travel for work

“I don’t know—I think that things are going to stay different for quite a long time,” Zendaya shared with her Dune co-star Timothée Chalamet in an interview for Elle. “We’re probably going to have a new normal to keep people safe and healthy, which I’m totally down for. I mean, I love traveling. I don’t feel super-safe traveling all over the place quite yet, but I can’t wait to get back to it.”

Zendaya continued on to share that being able to travel is one of her favorite parts of being an actor. The movies that she’s starred in has taken her to places like Budapest, Jordan, Prague, Venice, and more. And with her recent Emmy win, we’re sure that the actor will be offered more big-budget roles that will take her to other parts of the world. “I love being able to visit different places,” the actor confessed. “I think that’s one of the beautiful parts of our job.”

The ‘Dune’ star has a travel tradition

Zendaya even has a tradition that she does when she travels. The daughter of teachers, Zendaya has a love of learning and thus it makes sense that she uses her travels as educational opportunities. “Anytime I go on either a press tour or travel for work, which is really the main reason why I travel, I try to find as many museums and educational tours as I can,” the actor admitted.

Of course, not everyone appreciates Zendaya’s travel tradition, but she loves having information about different places that she can recall at the drop of a hat. “Some people think it’s boring, but I absolutely love it,” the Malcolm & Marie star shared. “You get all this information, and you go home and you start telling people random things like, ‘Did you know that this was built and….’ I just love having random facts. So, yeah, I miss traveling for sure.”

But, even though Zendaya is itching to get back to her travels and traditions, she has a lot of gratitude that she’s been able to work in the midst of a pandemic. For now, she knows that waiting for the pandemic to end is absolutely the best way forward. “Luckily I’ve been able to work, so I’m grateful for that, being able to work safely,” Zendaya shared. “I do miss being able to actually go to the movies. But you know what? All of that can wait.”
