Whose 2025 Las Vegas Residency Costs the Most Money to See This Summer?
This year, dozens of artists are in Las Vegas to perform residencies. For decades, artists have gone to Sin City to perform for long stretches of time. The job is lucrative and also gives visitors and residents a chance to see artists across a variety of genres. Some of the biggest stars in the world will be in the city this year. Here’s who fans will have to pay the most to see.
One artist’s Las Vegas residency costs more than the others
This summer, Rod Stewart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Lenny Kravitz, New Kids on the Block, Kenny Chesney, Donny Osmond, Barry Manilow, Kelly Clarkson, Boys II Men, and The Backstreet Boys will play residencies in Las Vegas. To see them on a Saturday night can cost fans a pretty penny.
One artist will cost more to see than the rest, though. When compared to the first Saturday show of the other artists, the Backstreet Boys come out as the most expensive show in the city. Tickets to their show on Saturday, July 12 start at $280. They play at The Sphere.
For those looking for a more affordable show, tickets to Rod Stewart at Caesar’s Palace and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts at the House of Blues start at $81.
The Backstreet Boys will celebrate their album ‘Millenium’ at the Sphere
The Backstreet Boys will play 21 shows at the Sphere in July and August. They will perform the entirety of their 1999 album Millenium along with some other hits. They will be the first pop band to play the Sphere.
“Die hard fans are going to get a great experience, a great nostalgic moment,” AJ McLean told Billboard.
They added that fans will also be able to hear songs they may not have listened to in years.
“Even just playing the whole Millennium album, there’s some deep cuts in there that we were just discussing the other day,” Howie Dorough said. “[We were] reminiscing about some of the songs like ‘The Perfect Fan’ and ‘No One Else Comes Close to You’ [and ‘Spanish’] Eyes,’ which are songs that the fans probably haven’t heard since the Millennium tour.”
The band will play their first show on July 11.
Who performed the first Las Vegas residency?
Over the years, artists like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Usher, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Jennifer Lopez have performed successful residencies in Las Vegas. The artist credited with the first residency is Liberace.
Liberace began performing shows in Las Vegas in 1944. He first performed at the Hotel Last Frontier and attracted a crowd by walking up and down the strip giving out handbills. He continued to put on shows in the city for the rest of his life.
“I don’t give concerts,” he once said, per uDiscover Music. “I put on a show.”
The thoroughfare between Maryland Parkway and Paradise Road, where Liberace performed most, is now called Liberace Avenue.
