50 Cent Mocked Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Attempt to Get a Pardon After Saying He’d Put a Stop to It
Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly seeking a pardon from Donald Trump, and 50 Cent is mocking him for it. This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has spoken up about Combs’ attempts to secure a pardon. In the past, he said he’d do what he could to make sure his longtime rival didn’t avoid prison time.
50 Cent mocked Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ attempts at securing a pardon
On Friday, Oct. 3, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to 50 months in prison. His legal team hoped for 14 months — which would have gotten him out almost immediately with time served — while the prosecution hoped for 11 years. As Combs’ defense team continues to slam the ruling, they have reportedly sought out other options to help their client avoid prison time.
“A lot of people have asked me for pardons. I call him Puff Daddy,” Trump said on Sept. 6. “He has asked me for a pardon.”
While Combs and Trump have spent time together and spoken favorably about each other, Combs grew more critical during Trump’s first presidential term. 50 Cent pointed this out while mocking Combs’ attempt to get a pardon.
“Man you can’t get No pardon running ya mouth like that! LOL Get Out of here,” he wrote on Instagram.
His fans agreed with him.
“Diddy you don’t deserve a pardon,” wrote one person. “You should be thankful you only got 4 years.”
50 Cent said he would block Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ attempt to get a pardon
During Combs’ trial, reports said his team was seeking a pardon. At that point, 50 Cent said he would personally reach out to Trump to let him know that Combs had spoken negatively about him.
“[Combs] said some really bad things about Trump, it’s not ok,” he wrote on Instagram, per Rolling Stone. “I’m gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy.”
50 Cent said he didn’t believe Trump would actually pardon Combs.
“Donald doesn’t take well to disrespect, and doesn’t forget who chooses to go against him,” he said. “While working tirelessly to make America great again there is no room for distraction. He would consider pardoning anyone who was being mistreated not Puffy Daddy.”
Trump has not shut down the possibility of a pardon despite backlash from his base. Still, he acknowledged that Combs talked negatively about him.
“I haven’t seen him, I haven’t spoken to him in years,” he said. “He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics, that relationship busted up. From what I read. I don’t know, he didn’t tell me that. But I read some little bit nasty statements in the paper all of a sudden.”
The pair have been at odds for years
50 Cent has spoken out about Combs for years. He said he has never liked Combs personally or professionally.
“I didn’t ever party or hang out with him,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “Puff is a businessperson; when [people call him] a producer, I see people that were taken advantage of, who produced things that he took from them. He got the credit. He’s not a producer. He’s been able to take advantage of the business and the creatives in it. I don’t have any interest in doing that.”
While many celebrities distanced themselves from Combs, 50 Cent has discussed his dislike of him publicly. He said he’s never worried about talking about him.
“Then you’ve got a part of our culture that says, ‘That’s snitching’ or ‘dry snitching’ or s*** like that. It’s not uncomfortable for me to say what I said because I’ve been saying this s*** for four years, five years,” he said. “I been telling you, ‘I don’t f*** with him. I don’t like the way he moving. This is a little crazy.’ Everybody else is not going to be as comfortable as I am saying it.”
